J_Jammer bites the dust

Image

For all of you people who got caught up in frustrating arguments with J_Jammer, it seems as if your troubles are over. Another one bites the dust.

What were the reasons?
Was it justified?
Do you even care?

    • Wow. It is really is you Jammer. Your the only one who would respond to a post like that. I must say I greatly enjoyed you not being around.

      Kenny your funny man.

The reason for my response - I grow weary of my email being bombed by this thread.

I will post no more in this thread no more. I was over and tired of all this 5 months ago.

Jubal says it best "Either do something really meaningful or keep quiet and stop trying to use the back door."

    • It has come to my attention from a friend of mine that happens to be a medical professional and has been examining JJ's posts for the last couple of days that this person JJ appears to be an immediate danger to people that are in close proximity and a possible danger to the public in general. If you have any connection with JJ please help get him some mental health because it appears he may be a danger to himself as well.

Analyzing posts is as common as traffic stops these days JJ. Profiling personality's happens to be an art that pays big bucks these days and my friend does rather well at it. The FBI calls on him quite frequently to help in investigations. You are so easy to profile and you may need to work at a better disguise, we will be watching to see how well you do!

Once again a reference to another poster that you have terrorized with your behavior, more evidence being collected with your own words. Keep going this is really getting interesting. Don't forget to try and distance yourself from things the old JJ would have said.

Quite the contrary JJ, it shows empathy on my part in taking the vail off a internet troll. But then again one of the big signs of a sociopath is the fact they lack empathy. Ooops, that's you!

    • People, look.

This thread sounds feels and sounds like an argument in a gossip magazine.

JJ deserves no props for tenacity and no credibility. He was was infuriating. Only looking to cause conflict. A disruptor. The kid in class who just made noise because he could. Free speech is a big one for me. Bigotry and ignorance are not. And while people continue to discuss this many more important things are going on in the world.

If you don't like current, don't stay. I for one am happy with what they chose to do. If you don't think I'm in the right do a little research, read the arguments he got into with people. But for the love of Pete it was over five months ago. He's gone. Let all just move on. Let's talk about more important things.

And he may be back as some other name. I recognize his sentence structure and how he choose to attack people. But even if he his, how pathetic is that? So you get kicked off a web site? So what? They are millions of websites out there. There and millions of other ways to spend you time and millions of other things a person could be doing that are positive, helpful, and insightful.

All things that JJ was not, nor would ever be.

Why can't you understand when you come to a knife fight with a ZEN master you will expose your own weakness that in turn will be used against you. KUNG FOO........YOU!

A sociopath always draws quite a crowd that are fixated at the damage a person can do to another. It's just human nature, look at the fan club of Charles Manson. Now that should explain people's interest in this person.

Oh, I don't know about that. I've seen many trolls on this site, but none with quite his flair. I thought he was a decent fellow, anyway. We hardly ever agreed on anything, but he sure knew how to rouse even the most silent commenter into heated argument. I find value in that kind of talent.

I think I really love how calling someone "jj" is the current approved method to call someone a troll on this site. Personally, I don't think it's accurate, but it really builds a sense of community, doesn't it? I wonder if they'll catch on and add it to their guidelines about personal attacks and calling other commenters "trolls."

His legacy will live on, that is indisputable.

while certainly not a genocidal maniac, or bent on world domination, his charisma is like hitler.gets people together (unified against him) creates a sense of community (everyone is wrong except me) and its all done through aggitation.
he is not a "troll" he has created an entity unto himself, like a reaccuring ailment, with no cure, that just serves to annoy.
give him time and he will, as he always does, cross a line that is unforgivable, and shows just how disgusting a human being he is.
he really needs psychological help more than anything

    • J Jammer has reappeared as Dr_Who, apparently.

Can someone tell him please that "duh" is spelled with an "h" and not an "r" (as in "dur")? I find the diphthong somewhat off-putting.

But maybe it's just an unfortunate speech impediment resulting from having run into things too often as a child, like his friends' fingers balled up into something conventionally called a fist. Childhood can be such an angry time.

So it's a disability maybe, in which case it's okay, because those meds can get expensive, and Title VII will help him out with the bills.

(Don't tell him that Title VII is the Civil Rights Act. That'll really piss him off.)

    • If JJammer was lied about then he should file a libel suit, that should settle things. Frankly I am tired of this whole thing going on and on and on and on. If you aren't going to take legal action then move on, stop whining about it. Either do something really meaningful or keep quiet and stop trying to use the back door.

    • Instead of just creating a thread full of opinions, why not write an actual article that explains why Jammer got booted?

Is this conducive to free speech? Is this a knee-jerk reaction to a zero tolerance policy about racism or is this perhaps someone being ostrasized because a few people didnt like his point of view? Is this a real issue, or is it just political correctness running rampant because of advertising money?

And before anyone thinks that I am just Jammer with a new name, let me dispell that myth from the start. Jammer writes for me on my site. His views are not political (he writes movie reviews) and while I dont always agree with his opinions of movies I support his right to speak his mind.

I'd love to hear some real discussion about this.

Infuriating and annoying speech is constitutionally protected. It likely also qualifies under international law as a "human" right, presuming, for the moment that, you know, the guy infuriating you really is a human and not that Neanderthal that we're all supposed to be a little related to.

Having said that, exercising an editorial decision is also protected. It's not the case that all forums must be open to all speakers. The free speech right prevents the criminalization of speech and prior restraints on speech. If editorial decisions weren't protected, Random House would look more like Twitter.

As for myself, yeah, of course, I'll read what Dr_Who has to say. Or even J_Jammer. Or whatever other name with an underscore that's the avatar of the moment. Of course, the little muscles above my left eye might twitch a bit more. But, on the other side of the coin, it could be a good excuse to abuse alcohol more often, too.

Or, you know, which is more likely, run another mile and play a few more sets of tennis. It'll be the Dr_Who workout.

At the end of the day, it might be good social training to prepare for the bigger irritations we have to meet face to face and that are "in our face". And luckily, the internet isn't equipped yet with an aroma download, so the hot breath of disagreement can remain within the polite limits of imagination rather than breaking out into a reality we never want to experience firsthand.

    • It is simplistic to suggest that J Jammer never had anything useful to say. Although I am not aware of all the circumstances I do not agree with kicking J Jammer off the site. Chomsky had a quote that I think applies also to this situation in referring to a Holocaust denier:

Faurisson's (J_Jammers) conclusions are diametrically opposed to views I hold and have frequently expressed in print (for example, in my book Peace in the Middle East, where I describe the Holocaust as "the most fantastic outburst of collective insanity in human history"). But it is elementary that freedom of expression (including academic freedom) is not to be restricted to views of which one approves, and that it is precisely in the case of views that are almost universally despised and condemned that this right must be most vigorously defended. It is easy enough to defend those who need no defense or to join in unanimous (and often justified) condemnation of a violation of civil rights by some official enemy. [6]" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faurisson_affair

This is truly unfortunate for current.

    • Holy lollipops. Go for a nice winter break and come back to this? It reminds me of the times in elementary school when the "cool" kids ganged up on the less "cool" kids who didn't do what they wanted him/her to do. Once the supposedly uncool kid who didn't conform was kicked off the team or out of the game (because, of course, not conforming makes you a bad player) everyone celebrated, because now they could play by their own rules. Without dissent.

Everyone complaining about him really doesn't need to do so. It seems like you're all angry at him despite the fact that YOU were the ones who gave him air-time. YOU responded to him. Boo fizzle hoo if what he said pissed you off. No one forced you to respond to him or even read what he had to say. Heck, he's gone and you're celebrating, but you are STILL giving him air time. Maybe you don't hate him nearly as much as you'd like to make it seem.

Hell, I didn't always agree with him, but that doesn't mean we all call to form a mob and celebrate that he's no longer on current. What he said may have been racist - it appears the comment on it's own IS. But there must be a greater context to take into account before judgment can be made.

I don't know. The comments on this all seem childish to me. Like this is something I used to do when I was a kid - celebrate the pruning off of non-conformists because I was bitter that I had to conform while they didn't bother. I thought we had all grown up.

I like your elementary school analogy -- except that it would be more accurate if it suggested that the vast majority of the other kids are looking on with varying degrees of interest after one of the school's most active bullies or "borderline personalities" has finally been expelled. implying that he was booted for being merely "uncool" is WAY wide of the mark...

Yeah, the analogy was pretty off the mark, hehe. I was concentrating more on the feelings of us all being active participants in an ousting as opposed to any particular accuracy in the details. The reason I chose "uncool" instead of bully is that it was fairly optional for all of us to NOT interact with jammer. You see, despite direct replies to comments or personal messages, we do have the choice to not replay to anything he said. With a typical bully, you don't have that choice. And to be honest, I'm seeing more than a mere interest in watching it happen. Some people here are being fairly vindictive.

Plus, I find it hilarious that a group of people who clearly cannot stand someone are willing to dedicate an entire article and 150+ comments to said person.

    • It pains me to comment on this topic because it only adds to all that was provoked by the troll formerly known as, ryhmes with "Hay Banner". But I think someone needed to point out that giving someone such as the (who shall not be named) only gives it a send off it so obviously did not deserve. A thread with more than three pages of comments (not counting sub-comment)? The topic at hand is about a person (if that's what passes for 'human" now) whos presence should have been ignored, behavior starved, and banishment acknowledged but not shouted from the roof tops. For that only allows the troll to do something other trolls can only dream of doing. The ability to provoke arguement even after its presence is no longer. Yes, that's right.......... you made him Jesus, the son of God, the Messiah. Great job!
