I still think this was all a ploy to impose some new and intrusive technology on us...and some asshole CEO and his corporation are poised to make a fortune off yet another government mandate. It reminds me of a Soprano episode where some NJ councilman announces grandiose development plans to beautify Newark...and Tony and the guys rub their hands together in gleeful anticipation of all the illegal profits they will reap from this beautification program, and remark that 'their' councilman is doing a great job keeping them in business.

I am waiting for a terrorist to have the chemicals in balloons in their stomachs, balloons made of some kind of material that dissolves when you drink Coca Cola, causing their guts to explode.
Then they will have all passengers VOMIT while going through security screening.

Yes it is an awful thought, but don't think for one second that with the scanners going in to the airports now that they have staged the latest terrorist attack, that it wont be the next big thing. Somebody besides myself has already probably though of it.
I remember someone who posted a story here on current form a professor in Kuwait who suggested that Anthrax could easily be smuggled in by Narco traffikers through the tunnels connecting Mexico with the US.
There are no limits to the ways in which terror can be conducted.

I think that this is a very important issue because he almost got away with this threat! I thought that we were covered and all the changes that were made to protect us were good now? Wrong as ever, I guess if they really want to do something they will find a way.I never ride airplanes anyway's. But, I don't know why they are continuously trying to do thing's to the USA. They really do hate us for all the corruption and the crime and sex and the freedom that goes on here. They hate that about us the most! I met quite a few Arabs, and palenstinians, Iraqi's and Libiyan's. The Koran says to them that everything we are about here in the USA is wrong and should be stopped. In their eye's. They have made it is some way to be that way, and they announce this to the public in these countries and cities. I wish someone would set them straight that all people are not responsible for all the corruption by the Govt. and or politician's and other officials,

A determined terrorist will make a statement, one way or another.
As to "them" hating us...I doubt they all hate us. In some of them, in their secret heart, they probably have a wide jealous streak.
We have much to desire in this country. Our freedoms, our easy life, and all of the simple things we take for granted, like hot running water....indeed, clean drinking water.
And if some truly hate us for what we have, there is nothing to be done about it. - 2 years ago

@slarabee
I know you are not justifying their tactics....so....I can understand the effect out policies have upon their lives. And I know the US has interfered covertly and not so covertly, in tthe politics of mid-eastern countries, and still are, for that matter.
And I suppose it is in part because of the way I grew up, but I cannot fathom a whole people that are their "government policies," no matter who or what tells me so.
No more than I can fathom all Muslims hate Americans because some Americans act like idiots. Or all Americans hating Muslims becaise some Muslims act like idiots.However, I still think that much of the violence is for the sake violence itself. When each individual wakes up in those wee hours before dawn, when the mind is not fully awake, but not afraid to look into that small dark place that no fully awake person ever looks, they will see their violence for what it is.
And it won't be about a western power, or interference, or a religion. It will be because of a lust for violence and power. It will startle and ashame, but then the mind will come full circle, justify the means, and the person goes back to sleep, happy in their justification.And yes, "There are a terrible lot of lies going about the world, and the worst of it is that half of them are true."
How very sad, but true. - 2 years ago
