Gay Dating Site Ad REJECTED By CBS For Superbowl Run

Update: CBS has rejected an ad from gay dating site ManCrunch, telling the site that the ad "is not within the Network's Broadcast Standards for Super Bowl Sunday.", James Hibberd reports at The Live Feed

CBS released the following statement:

"After reviewing the ad - which is entirely commercial in nature - our Standards and Practices department decided not to accept this particular spot. As always, we are open to working with the client on alternative submissions."

Hibberd reports that CBS believed ManCrunch was trying to generate free publicity by submitting an ad that was likely to be rejected.

    • The kissing was over the top. Is there a heterosexual ad that has played in the pass that matches the kissing in this one? Something that would set a precedent to what is acceptable?

      They got a lot of publicity because of it not running more than if it did run and as someone said on the NEWS they got what they wanted. I do not believe they thought it would actually run. They have no reason to believe that they would get picked.

      Girl on girl kiss was blocked for the 2003 Super Bowl.

      It would be fine with me for it to play. It is a funny ad. Love the guy's face when his friends start making out. haha....

    • So you can't have a somewhat funny ad for a dating website, but you can have an anti abortion ad? Why is CBS fucking with the tried and true funny/controversialy funny advertisements that make the Super Bowl such a fun celebration? Its already a recession and ad prices have been rolled back, we didn't need another dose of buzzkill.
