    • So I watched this entire show and, while I'll keep the expletives to myself, I must say that Bill O'Reilly is just wrong on so many points.

First he referred to Daily Show viewers as "stoner slackers." As a Daily Show watcher myself who is neither a stoner or a slacker I took some offense to that remark. As it turns out, according to a survey released by the Pew Research Center in 2007, regular viewers of The Daily Show tend to be more knowledgeable about news than audiences of other news sources, including O'Reilly's show, the O'Reilly Factor.

Then, in an effort to paint Fox as a "fair and balanced" news organization he stated that his program was clearly represented as an opinion program. In fact, he said that mistaking the O'Reilly Factor for a news broadcast was like mistaking the Daily Show for a true news broadcast. Maybe someone should point out to O'Reilly that his show appears on the Fox News Network where as the Daily Show is on Comedy Central. (Personally, I think the Idea that Fox actually delivers "news" is so laughable, they should be investigated for false advertisement.)

Finally, there was a discussion of Sarah Palin's concept of "Real America" where O'Reilly used San Francisco as an example of what "Real America" wasn't. To that I must say that San Franciscans ARE real Americans. They are just as American as Bostonians, Atlantans, Milwaukeeans, Austinites and anyone else who calls this country home. Bill, if you don't like the "melting pot" that is America, then get the hell out.

...and have you seen the difference between the originally aired interview and the fully posted one on the internet?

While also choking back an expletive-laced rant, not only is BillO wrong, he does a much more sinister thing, in my mind:

He upholds the narrative of Fox News in general, an "us" american...versus "them" american....and only accomplishes this with a deliberate, scalpel-detail cut of the dialogue between two relatively, reasonably thoughtful public figures.

It goes to show that we can only judge what is a foot in front of our faces, and when dealing in politics....don't trust it within an inch.

      So sad....
