Repaving Our Concrete Jungles With Grassy Green Streets

Grass would absorb all the dirty oil leaked out from our car and die off. Eventually sipping in our water supply. Soon you be running on dirt. Why not pave the street with pretty flowers ands angels.

If you drive on grass, it messes it up. It won't work.

Let's try some ideas that are rooted in reality. This idea could very well have the opposite affect it desires. Besides, I don't want to see a grass lined Las Vegas, I want to see Vegas fall.

I dunno about grass. How about used coffee grounds? At least it would smell good

Green grass isn't even natural to the US... besides all the great reasons below me.. grass is just another invasive species brought from Europe.

It could work we just need more envirmentally friendly tires.

Did any of you guys see pictures of roads that were not paved, when only wagons used them? Grass doesn't even grow where my dogs love to run! (I'm not talking the feces!) As soon as I allow them access to the healty grass they kill it!
Now if we could glean energy off of the road surface that would work! You can see heat rising off of pavement in the summer, find a way to collect it.

This is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. Within months we'd end up with mud streets as the constant tread of urban living would quickly kill all the grass. Even asphalt and concrete have a hard time with it and need to be constantly renewed. How do you think dirt and grass would do?

The grass in our yards isn't even eco-friendly and we don't have to maintain them to survive massive amounts of traffic and oil. The opposite of this where we just do away with artificial grass growth entirely from even our yards is much more "green".

We pave roads because natural terrain doesn't last. This is stupid.

I have been shoveling snow for a month the snow is even with my waist now.I want warming it cant be that bad i want balmy 40 degree winters just use technology to fix what ever problems arise and let it warm up a little higher seas? new beachfront.ice melting? more water to drink. draught? melt some ice.

Pave all the roads with bud. That way when a car is idling it will spark up the bud and the whole city will be mellow.

Uhhhh wouldnt the grass get all torn up when people drive on it? Or it it snows wouldnt plows tear it up?

This idea is fucking stupid. Putting grass and gardens on rooftops/balconies is a great idea though.

f that, i rather have my global warming. i just finally got a new beach wordrove, besides we would have to hire a bunch of elegals to cut the grass and that is just ludacrisl.

Grass is not really green. It's an artificial monoculture that's heavily dependent on water, provides a single food source to a small variety of animals and requires a lot of nutrients to maintain.

This is stupid, grass won't grow when it is constantly being driven on. Our roads should be made from solar power generating tiles that will provide clean electricity.

Worst idea ever. Worse than Gum and Nuts. Why can't the streets soak up solar energy and utilize that for street lamps or whatever.
