Maher, a perennial bomb thrower with a hard left ideology appeared on CNN’s Feb. 16 “Larry King Live,” facing the king of softball interviews, Larry King, and let it be known he thought alleged terrorism plotter Khalid Sheikh Mohammed should be tried in New York City and that health care should be forced through by the Obama administration, despite the wishes of the American people.
And why should the American people’s wishes be ignored? They’re “not bright enough.”

Before I broke out of the left/right paradigm, I watched Real Time w/Bill Maher "religulously." Even before that, I always supported Politically Incorrect and his stand up. Don't get me wrong, he is very funny and I agree with him on a lot of issues, but the bottom line is: he's a fake radical, paid to control the far left and denounce 9/11 Truth, so they won't wake up.
His rhetoric is witty, edgy and hip with a spin to appeal to the "cool" yuppies. Sure, a lot of Americans are fat, stupid and lazy and completely brainwashed by the NWO, but if they woke up to 9/11, maybe they'd take control of their lives and help reclaim this country. Bill Maher's job is to make sure his audience doesn't do that. He's paid to keep you in line. Hey Bill, just b/c you smoke pot doesn't make you cool; you're a puppet.

There was this one part where he was talking to a pastor with a gold watch and they told maher that if you focus on God first the cars the clothes and the house come later.
Then maher followed up with a little text at the bottom that said "we checked the bible to see if it said that and it doesnt"
But it does say that

ibrake4rappers13:
A) That was a joke.
B) The joke was literal: the Bible does NOT mention cars. It certainly does NOT say "if you focus on god first, the cars, clothes, and house will come later."Even so, THAT's the prob with the movie? No. You don't like the film because it makes fun of you.

No the reason i didnt like it was because it was factually incorrect, i dont care about his opinions, im willing to stand them. But when he says something is not in the bible when it clearly is it makes me question his motives

I don't think you listened to what I just posted.
This is NOT in the Bible: "If you focus on god first, the cars, clothes, and house will come later." What he said was **correct**
Oh, and where's the verse? You like quoting verses. Let's see it.

Yes, but as I've said twice already, it was a LITERAL joke. The bible still does not say: "if you focus on god first, the cars, clothes, and house will come later."

Mathew 19:24 Jesus says: "Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
James 5:5 states "You have lived in luxury and pleasure on earth. You have fattened yourselves for the day of slaughter."
The objective of that scene was to point out that this guy was a glutton and a fraud. He didn't even know that Jesus preached against rich folks. He accomplished his goal, so much so that the guy filed a lawsuit because he knew that Bill showed this dope's true colors.

No one needs carS and houseS. Hell, even a singular car is stretching the meaning of the word "need." I guess that's what happens when you combine consumerism with religion.

It's been my observation that while some use the "mocking" excuse to evoke emotion on the issue, the true reason most people seem to be against the civilian trial is that it will cost hundreds of millions of dollars and take months.
A military tribunal is legal, would have few if any additional costs as all parties and facilities are already in place and paid for by the government, and could probably be knocked-out in a couple weeks.
Which way seems like the more practical way to go?

Maher is great, but the libertarian commentary tacked on by the poster is boorish and intellectually naive, as are all libertarians.
There is hope, however, most folks manage to grow out of the libertarian non-sense by the time they graduate from college.

The American public in general responds in knee-jerk reactions to key words like "socialism" and "death panels" without ever asking for the details behind the story. People would rather keep up with ten seasons of "Lost" than lobby for better health care. So for the most part, Bill's right. The educated minority needs to speak up and make itself heard.

Bill maher is right.
Americans as a whole let these flashy names like "socialism" or even scarier "COMMUNISM" get in the way of rational thought. So instead of doing what could be best for the country, they do whats best for a select group because its more American.
The American people are too stupid to understand the issues.

Of course with his "stupid" remark Maher was speaking in a general sense and not necessarily about "You" but to not understand this kinda proves his point. :)

Ahh ok. Who exactly is this NWO you speak of? I am assuming it's not Hulk Hogan and crew. Please explain succinctly the 9/11 Truth, I'd like to hear your opinions. The fact of the matter as evidenced by comments like yours is that Americans by and large are too stupid to really understand the issues. The fact that so many could possibly be against universal healthcare is a clear example of this. The average American in not very educated and that my friend is what is keeping them "in line" as you so eloquently put it.
"I watched Real Time w/Bill Maher "religulously."", is that your attempt at being witty? Cause of Bill's movie Religulous....right......right? I feel so cool.
Wake up. We live in a country where Snooki and "The Situation" are about to get paid $10,000 or more per episode for Jersey Shore, where the news of Tiger Wood's infidelity was treated like a national crisis, where people like Glenn Beck (No university degree) and Sarah Palin (Degree in communications.......enough said) are actually taken seriously as leaders.
