Divorce Agreement - American liberals, leftists, social progressives... DIVIDE UP AMERICA

-

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives,
socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al: We have stuck
together since the late 1950's, but the whole of this latest election
process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each
other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this
relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America
cannot and will not ever agree on what is right so let's just end it on
friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences
and go our own way. Here is a model separation agreement:
>
Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by
landmass each taking a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am
sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it
should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can
effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and
disparate tastes. We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them.
You are welcome to
the liberal judges and the ACLU. Since you hate guns and
war, we'll take
our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can
keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell (You are, however,
responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three
of them).
We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies,
Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved
homeless, homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens.
We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms,
greedy CEO's and rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles
and give you NBC and Hollywood.
You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll
retain the right to
invade and hammer places that threaten us. You can have the
peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are
under assault, we'll help provide them security.
We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.. You are welcome
to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley McClain. You can also
have the U. N.. but we will no longer be paying the bill.
We'll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks and oversized luxury
cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.
You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any
practicing doctors.
We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and
not a right. We'll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National
Anthem. I'm sure
you'll be happy to substitute Imagine, I'd Like to
Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya or We Are the World.
We'll practice trickle down economics and you can give
trickle up poverty your best shot. Since it often so offends you, we'll
keep our history, our name and our flag.
> > Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to
> > other like minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree,
> > just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you ANWAR which one
> > of us will need whose help in 15 years.
Sincerely,
John J. Wall, Law Student and an American
P. S. Also, please take Barbara Streisand & Jane Fonda with you.

how about liberals copy the freestate movement, a bunch of libertarians are moving to new hampshire so they can pretty much live in a community that represents them,
so maybe liberals or social progressives can do the same, choose a state or city that's already very liberal like San Francisco or Rhode Island, move there, start influencing the politics and once that place excels at everything show the world what liberalism can do! other places can start copying that system, win win

Notice that they don't mention libraries, because conservatives don't care about literacy. It will be funny when their little utopia becomes a poisonous and polluted feudal state with all the little conservative rednecks working for store credit before they die of black lung.

The Democratic party is my delusional mother who talks about all the things she is going to do "some day", but never does. She'll blame my father for things she doesn't accomplish, but in reality she's too afraid to actually do anything, lest she upset someone. And while she despises my father, the Republican party, she'll never divorce him because she's comfortable getting hand-outs from him.
My father, GOP as he is fondly known, is a self-righteous and selfish religious hypocrite. He'll bitch about all the "queers" running around these days, and how back in his day "traditional family values" were important, and apparently there were absolutely no problems "back then". I wonder if his vision of "traditional family values" include the past 3 years good ol' dad's been fucking his secretary. He also will never divorce the Democratic party because without her, there would be no one to blame for his problems, some of which he caused himself years ago.
---I've been an American citizen for more than 10 years now. It's been an interesting journey experiencing history in this country and watching the rest of the world as an American. it's been a bit of a mind-fuck to say the least. Your perspectives are so skewed sometimes. Both parties represent the same selfish and/or lazy and willfully ignorant spoiled teenagers. You want better schools, you want better roads, lower crime, better environment, but you don't ever want to raise your taxes.
and christ, do you people bitch about your taxes. newsflash: they're much lower than they are in most other countries. In all, however, i have to say most "normal" Americans want the same general things: the opportunity to live a safe, happy, and healthy life so they can pursue their goals. because this isn't a third world country, people should be striving to live full lives, not simply hang on and survive like many of our citizens are.
Neither party is doing a good job in my opinion. But how about some personal responsibility, guys. how many people bitch about politics and actually vote in more than just the presidential election? How many people talk about poverty and welfare, and actually go work at a soup kitchen or an after school program? How many people REALLY practice the philosophies, religious or otherwise, that they preach?
If people actually walked a mile in another man's shoes, we wouldn't be have so many fucking problems because we'd have maybe a little understanding? and dare i say...compromise?!?
Some humanity, some patience, and a little understanding could help any marriage, even between parasites and bottom feeders....i mean democrats and republicans.

Smart thinking though not plausible. We must convince the religious right that the earth is round and they won't fall off a cliff onto hell if they get to cross state borders.
If we keep the aliens it's ok because they know how to (enter any job a legal American won't do) assimilate themselves to anything that pays them $5 an hr for 12 hrs. without medical. If we keep hollywood moguls, it's ok. You may keep OLD Pat Rob and watch him babble nonesense. If the divorce is final no side will be happy, but life will go on. - 2 years ago

Clever, if not simplistic. I'd be tempted to take you up on the offer if not for the fact that it's based on certain false premises, and even after the divorce you would continue to infringe on the rights of others... that's just not acceptable to me.
There's a popular misconception that liberals are anti-military. I'm a liberal and a veteran of the United States Army. I'm against abuse of military power. I believe supporting our troops means not sending them off to die in an unjust war, (AKA Iraq).
I served in the military to defend such things as freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Judeo-Christian values are great. So are the values of Islam, Scientology, Humanism, as well as Buddhism and Hinduism. The practice of all are protected by the U.S. Constitution.
Now, you may call me a tree-hugger, but the fact is that your lack of concern for the environment will pollute my kid's lungs and poison their water. Even if we are divorced, your SUVs will pollute my air. Sorry, but you just can't contain it and I happen to like clean air.
And before you decide to file those divorce papers, think about the good that liberals have done for this country: Liberals ended slavery, (yes, Abraham Lincoln was a Republican, but read the history books, Republicans were the liberals of the 1800s,) and liberals gave us civil rights. Liberals championed Medicare and Medicaid and liberals fought so that women could have the right to vote.
What have Conservatives done? Well, they've fought us along the way... you know, just in case progress in these areas moved just a little too fast.
America is a pluralist society. We are who we are because of our ethnic, religious, cultural and political diversity. It is this diversity that makes us great. If you don't like it, then you can move out of the house. I'm staying and I'm keeping the kids and the dog.
So no, I don't agree to a divorce. Instead, I recommend counseling. I don't quit on America and I won't take the easy way out at the expense of others.

Hows about this: If you don't like how some of our country thinks or what sort of ideas they try and spread to the rest of the population you can pack your bags with as much budweiser and bibles as will fit in them and get the hell outta this country. No dividing of land, no splitting up of resources. If you aren't willing to work to making the country a better place then go make a new one else where, this land is already taken. I hear there's plenty of unclaimed "land" down in Antarctica, and hey since global warming is such a farce I'm sure that property will always be there and wont randomly break off into the ocean.
And yes, liberals will continue to happily go about their plot to sinisterly assure proper education for everyone paid for by your tax dollars in spite of how it ruins America('s trailer parks).

Funny, how when Bush and the repubs were in charge, all I ever heard was "He's the president of the United States, not just the republicans", but now that the dems are in charge, it seems that Obama is just the president of the left. The flaw in that idea is it assumes that the ideological divide is static when it always is changing. Some people and some stages of socities may become stuck for a while but the pace of evolution is always advancing.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kohlberg%27s_stages_of_moral_development
So that assumption that you can even separate those functions without destroying the whole fabric of society is ridiculous. It is a lot more likely that those rigid attitudes will just be replaced and fade away.
"The most radical revolutionary will become a conservative the day after the revolution." ...Hannah Arendt
"There is nothing sadder in this world than the waste of human potential. The purpose of evolution is to raise us out of the mud, not have us grovelling in it." ...Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider,

I got a better idea. Why don't the liberals, progressives and socialists gather up the remaining - the knuckle dragging, bible thumping, ignorant red necks; and move y'all to some of those fancy FEMA re-education camps.
In fact, we might as well just federalize Texas, Arizona and select parts of the deep South, and convert the whole shabang into big FEMA re-education camps.
That would be more humane than just putting all you rabid dogs down, don't you think?

Though this is very eloquent bullshit, it is still bullshit.
The no middle ground, you're with me or against me ideology has been driven by the media and has saturated our social norm. Unfortunately idiots on both sides embrace this kind of mentality for the same reason that some people idiotically embrace sports competition. They want to support an individual or a team who kicks ass and takes names. The problem is that this kind of mentality which has infected politics and our social understanding of politics is destructive. If what were suggested by "John J. Wall, Law Student and an American" happened, it would only be a temporary solution. It wouldn't be too long until the new separate countries started to actively look for the pissy little differences amongst themselves to fight about and not budge on.
Not to mention, I'm not fucking moving to appease some arrogant little snot, nor a poorly organized crowd of angry idiots. Nor would I expect anyone whom I either agree or disagree politically with to. But who am I kidding, this thing deserves a much more detailed response.
"We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies,
Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved
homeless, homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens.
We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms,
greedy CEO's and rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles
and give you NBC and Hollywood."Well since you seem to be giving us who are "socialist" all of the socialist things, then give us all of the concepts that have come from socialist ideals as well. That means factories will run slave labor style. The homeless you can keep because deregulation from the conservative right have caused many of the people who are homeless to be homeless because of lost jobs and criminal bank loaning practices. We'll take the hippies, and homeboys, but you can keep the illegal aliens too. If your politicians are of any indication, you'll need them to mow your lawns so you won't have to pay your citizens fair wages. Keep your Alaskan hockey moms, assuming that they all will want to be part of your nation and not ours. Keep your greedy CEO's, let them fuck only the people who support them for a while. Keep your rednecks, it's jackasses with only a few teeth and play the banjo while shooting their shotgun at the stop sign who come into our emergency rooms demanding healthcare without insurance when they hurt themselves doing something stupid who jack up our insurance premiums anyways. You can keep your bibles too. Most of us aren't too interested in a book that has been responsible for inspiring such things as witch trials and crusades.
"You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll
retain the right to
invade and hammer places that threaten us. You can have the
peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are
under assault, we'll help provide them security."You show that you can do such a good job of that too, invading Iraq for example was a brilliant move. After all, they did threaten us and/or pose a threat to us, or wait... they didn't. Notice, the war protestors protest wars that are rooted in bullshit. The Vietnam War was another countries economic and political revolution. We didn't go there to help our allies, we went there to defeat our enemy. There is a difference. Nobody really protested when we went into Afghanistan, but it did seem to go to shit after we went into Iraq and after we discovered that our conservative government at the time was practicing extreme rendition to torture people. Notice, there also weren't really any protestors when we were involved in WW2.
"We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.. You are welcome
to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley McClain. You can also
have the U. N.. but we will no longer be paying the bill."Keep your Jeudo-Christian values, though I don't see why you'd keep those and shun Islam since the religions are virtually the same with a few very minor differences. Scientology is a cult, so I'm not sure why we would take it since you seem to be the ones who blindly believe religious texts without any actual evidence. After all, the biggest difference between Scientology and other religions is that Scientology is so damn new. Also, it's odd that you don't bring up other religions, like Buddhism, Judaism, Wiccan, or anything else. Seems like you have a rather narrow view of religion for being so supportive of your own religion. I don't see why you would want to give up Humanism since Humanism is one of the good things in the book that you want to keep, the Bible, but it's ok. We'll take Humanism anyways because a lot of us actually practice it without having to be guilted into it by a book. I think we can live with keeping the U.N., after all they kept insisting that there were no WMD's in Iraq even though we "knew" that they were lying. Turns out that they weren't lying, so the U.N. seems to be a better intelligence gathering organization than our own CIA. On a similar note, you can keep the CIA.
"We'll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks and oversized luxury
cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find."You're an idiot. We don't want Subaru's you nimrod. We want efficient, safe, and reliable vehicles. Subaru's are safe and reliable, but not efficient. They have all wheel drive, and accordingly weigh more. That drops their fuel efficiency. If anything, we'd love either a well designed public transportation system or electric cars. Know the people you choose to mock before you mock them, and enjoy filling your SUV or pickups gas tank when the gas prices sky rocket again since you're going to have those corrupt CEO's from the gas companies.
"You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any
practicing doctors.
We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and
not a right. We'll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National
Anthem. I'm sure
you'll be happy to substitute Imagine, I'd Like to
Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya or We Are the World."Well, given that both of my parent's work in hospitals, and quite a few of the doctors that they know actually would prefer a universal health care system, I think that we'll probably get quite a few of the doctors to come with us. In fact we'll probably get the doctors who are more interested in treating people first as opposed to the doctors who are interested in getting paid first. By they way, since we're getting all of the socialist programs, that means that the Hippocratic oath comes with us. So your doctors won't really have to treat anyone if they don't want to. Yes, the Hippocratic oath is an idea that can be agued to be socialist. You keep the National Anthem, and we'll go back to the old one from before the 50's. You might know it, it's exactly like the one that we have now, except there is no "one nation under God" because our government used to respect the separation of church and state.
"We'll practice trickle down economics and you can give
trickle up poverty your best shot. Since it often so offends you, we'll
keep our history, our name and our flag."If trickle down economics worked as well as you thought it did, there would be no issues of poverty in this nation. Trickle up isn't so hot on it's own either though. What we need is a combination of the two, but no one seems to want that. By the way, we are not offended by our history, our name or our flag. We are offended by people who wrap themselves in the flag, distort history, and use our nations name to back up a pointless argument that they are making.

Well said.
aaaand we'll keep the other socialist institutions, as well...sidewalks, paved roads, street lights, sewer systems, garbage collection, k-12 education (hell we'll add college to that), libraries, parks, memorials & statues, national parks, bike paths, public transportation systems,museums...
And we get philosophy, rational thinking, international reputation as the greatest nation on Earth, and science and art since much of it comes from endowments from our socialist funding system.
There's a perfect vision of what the "other" side is going to get to keep in the clip of the Daily Show at this link...
