Meme watch: Earth versus Mars

Earth's long rivalry with other planets has come to a head, in a new series of charts found throughout the tumblrs. Earth, already instrumental in removing Pluto from the galactic league, is calling out its closest neighbor.

In both the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games, Martians received zero medals. Earth, won them all.

It's not just the entire solar system that our planet is trying to dominate, it's the entire universe.

Earthlings boast 57 wins in the Miss Universe pageant.

 

This antagonism may not be the best for the sake of our humanity.

Let us not forgot all the brave souls on the planet Earth who perished on ID4, our Independence Day.

    • Humans aren't ready for Martians, you don't even recognize Dolphins as people yet.

      If it ever happens, it'll be a politically, morally and ethically charged occasion, to say the least. Religious humans will protest recognition on the grounds that dolphins weren't made in the image of God.

      Then there are the challenges surrounding the ways humans use the oceans – for dumping, fishing, shipping, oil production, etc. – and our long history of mishandling property rights and the concept of ownership.

      Plus, you might be forced to confront your unresolved hypocrisy in regard to indigenous human populations, racism, gender inequality, and child welfare, just to name a few.

      Any of those arguably adverse consequences of recognizing dolphins as people could provide the basis for a great new Olympics.

      But I really think humans are fearful of loosing to another species. Do you really think Michael Phelps would stand a chance against the fastest of dolphins?

      When you humans recognize dolphins as people, then you can think about moving on to other worlds. Until then, quit your bragging, and be very afraid.

    • middle child sundrome cant blame earth for thinking its the center of the universe you relativists think you are but yeah this isnt any more then a halfcooked comedy routine which really doesnt have a great recepe anyway, but as Oscar Wilde said "i love talking about nothing its the only thing i know anything about." and can i just say one thing current is where you post your news not where you get it so stop complaining about the content and shoot something about it
