Andy Cross, landlord of the Black Swan in York has been serving Squirrel Pie and Mash, a dish which he claims as had customers ringing up in their droves asking whether or not it is being served. This new idea is clearly being enjoyed in York, and has a taste described as 'strong rabbit – just more meaty'.

I wonder if it will catch on?

    • When asked why he is serving up this "rodent recipe" at this particular time,...it seems the chef had previously released others; "The cats already out of the bag" he said.

    • I'd probably give it a taste once, but wouldn't eat more after that. Though heard dormouse was a popular snack centuries ago.
