HIT THIS LINK___THIS IS MUCH LONGER______
As much as one would like to be able to tell the history of mankind, it is so extensive, complex and filled with details that this is a nearly impossible task. So here it is, the history of the human race, in pictures.
For me, this voyage through time was terribly interesting for two main reasons:
- I had never before seen such a good summary;
- I think I'm able to indentify four main tendencies that repeat themselves cyclically through time: war, women, sex and intrigue.
... Or is it just me?

Biology has changed the least, but that everything else has changed a lot. It depends on if people only act on the instincts of the past and ignore all the options that have been developed in the "past hundred thousans years."
This chart is a bit better since it covers a longer period, the one posted would fit in the first 3 figures of this one. It's only a sliver of the history, not that it didn't happen but it's only partially true, since the biology of sex stays fairly constant.
I prefer this since it covers more stage of development that every society goes through. For example the 4th figure was the hunting stage, the 5th was the agricultural, the 6th was the industrial and the 7th was the informational.
IMHO it is better to show what was added to improve society at each further stages since every society includes the stage before it. Other aspects are added to make each stage have more options that the one before. More people could be fed by farming than by hunting so a larger population could be supported and so on.

I guess that depends on the representation of it, since some have done attempts to make it more accessible by putting it in more familiar terms

I checked it out and even though it goes through more societies it just highlights 1 or 2 aspects of those societies.
I still prefer the other since it covers more stage of development that every society goes through.
For example the 4th figure was the hunting stage, the 5th was the agricultural, the 6th was the industrial and the 7th was the informational.
IMHO it is better to show what was added to improve society at each further stages since every society includes the stage before it.
Those cycles you mentioned stay the same but other aspects are added to make each stage have more options that the one before. More people could be fed by farming than by hunting so a larger population could be supported and so on.

Yah,...I have seen what you posted before and liked it. The one I posted has more of a "nothing ever REALLY changes riff to it",....co it depends more on your native pessimism for appeal. In any case,...I was just worried that too many people didn't see the whole thing. I simply did not anticipate the "link disinclined"!
In any case,...I just have a soft spot for this sort of narrative illustration.

Be sure to look at the WHOLE pageant,....( not just that initial slice),...the illustrator has gone out of his way to express the violent repetitive features of mans society/psychology,...it isn't "immature", or similar,...but rather,...if anything,...somewhat cynical,...jaded,...ironic,......(I would say "hard core realist")
That first little slice DOES NOT STAND ALONE,....nor is it meant to.

War,...rape,...the occasional atrocity,...tech evolves,...(repeat cycle).
( But SOMEHOW we just keep making more,....of us )
I think that does serve to sum up the general trends. You would model the reality differently,....how? ( This is not meant as a rhetorical question. ) - 2 years ago
