Lads' mag's controversial Danny Dyer advice incurs Twitter crowd wrath

Outrage against advice given in Danny Dyer's agony uncle slot in ZOO magazine is spreading like a raging bush fire on Twitter. In a bafflingly ill-advised move, Dyer's column suggests one way to get over an ex is to, ahem, cut her face. Ah.

At the time of writing this, ZOO's Twitter account hasn't responded to the controversy though they are taking votes on the Babe Election, if anyone's interested in doing their bit for democracy.

Edit: ZOO have tweeted the following apology - "Due to a production error, an inappropriate and indefensible response to a letter appeared in this week's ZOO. We apologise unreservedly."

    • I have no clue who this Danny guy is & Twitter NEEDS to be abolished already! so...yeah...Who ever this Danny guy is ,he sure doesn't seem to be the brightest fellow!!! Zoo??? I thought that was that animal magazine that's in TV commercials a lot marketed towards young kids learning to read & the magazine has like stickers & posters of animals...Uhhhmmm...What IS that one called now??? Now you got me thinking!!! Hopefully Twitter gets shut down & this Danny guy doesn't suddenly become some HUGE public event like oh...every other major or minor celeb mishap !!! I'd probably do just fine never knowing who this guy is!!!

    • And for those of you who had forgotten that Zoo magazine existed, this is a huge advert for them. All publicity is good publicity, or so the saying goes. I doubt whether Danny Dyer writes any of his own agony aunt column so someone in an office somewhere probably had a bit of a laugh after this rubbish was published.

If they lose advertising as a result (not unlikely) and/or have to pay damages to Danny Dyer, I can't imagine they'll be laughing. Right now they'll probably getting a huge pasting from their publishers.

    • "Due to an extremely regrettable production error, an inappropriate and indefensible response to a letter has appeared in this week's issue.

ZOO editor, Tom Etherington, apologises unreservedly for any offence the response may have caused and has launched an internal enquiry to ensure lessons are learnt.

ZOO and Danny Dyer condemn any violence against women. A donation will be made to Women's Aid."-Statement from Zoo on their website

    • I would like to watch Family Guy with folks who are upset about this.

Granted this is nowhere near as funny as FG, but I'm pretty sure it's meant to be. Isn't that mag something like Maxim? Toilet humor, low brow entertainment? Seems like a non-issue to me.

    • To be fair to Danny Dyer, he probably doesn't write that - they just use his name. I'm amazed ZOO published something like this. What were they thinking?

    • What an irresposible douche bag. Calling on all psycho bitches out there to keep an eye out for Danny boy. Since he does not feel that writing something like this was wrong, I imagine that an education in the consequences of advice like this may be called for.

    • Well,.....perhaps a bit extreme. I would have gone with "Turn to heroine,....your one true friend",......or "psychotic madness gets a bad rap it doesn't deserve".
