GOD's Graphic Novel ; The Sistine Chapel

He could have pumped up the combat a little,....but otherwise....
( If ol Mike had hung with Frazetta he probably would have added a little more blood and steel and sorcery,.....and T+A !!!
Still,....good anatomy,....interesting distribution and arrangement of panels, amusing use of perspective,...all in all,....not bad.....B+. Oh,...and much improved now that the color has been reworked!

    • Yeah, it is a beautiful place. But the church should follow its own dictates and
"sell what it has, and give it to the poor." bet the money would feed, house, give medical aid to a lot of people.

It is in "Art and Style",.....is is only in "Comedy' well,....as a joke. ( The Chapel IS being presented as though one were reviewing a standard "graphic novel". Not saying it succeeds in being funny,,.....but an attempt was made.

Thats true, but actually, tying together numerous separate graphic story elements,....in separate "frames" ,....on one page, or composed of two pages forming a subset within the epic printed comic/novel,....IS what a comic illustrator does ! So while I was being humorous,...I stand by the comparison. The compositional and narrative skill sets are identical. Now modern graphic story tellers don't have to grapple with the issues of sheer S C A L E,......but the DO have to allow for text and work well with others!

When you were there did you ever have a chance to see a 'bathtub museum?' We saw a bunch of bathtubs on the way out. We didn't take a tour. We just went around on our own.

    • Some critics have accused it of being a little busy,...and this "artsy-fartsy" neglect of the "word balloon" has a bit of the "poser" to it,.and a lot of "ME ME ME,...WHO is really important here,...the artist or the writer"??? Still,...a good read.
