psychologically. The Vampire Genre gives the human in subject the chance to completely alienate himself from society. Which is impossible to do; becuase you can't be the only one trying to be an outcast if there are several other thousands of people trying to be outcasts.

Most people who latch onto these character types often associate with them on a level of something that is missing in their lives. For example.

People have forgotten that these things....although probably true at one point in this worlds history. Are story's, and the way people express their discomfort through lack of power. One person in a million on some corner of the earth wants what another person has. Or wants the same thing the other person wants.

And its not just the Vampire Genera; its all stories in general...there is no more they. Its only they were....so...its obviously not really a big deal. The young want do be dead and powerful to survive through the follies of their elders.

Vamp stories have been the rage long before Twilight in my opinion and the relationship between Vampires and Werewolves is one told many time over. I’ve always loved vampire movies, show’s and books. I think people are naturally drawn to the dark things in human nature and the portrayal of vampires in this media embodies that. Who would be drawn to the idea of power, lust, living forever, controlling people, and killing little consequence? For most of us we know it’s only a story, and old wives tail, and in some cases history exaggerated for our imaginations.

I enjoy to some extent virtually all vampire material that has NOTHING to do with "mall style" high school gurls save quick "splatter" scenes to establish the predators "credentials" before the plot swiftly moves on. "Dating" behavior has no place as an ingredient in the cinematic slaughter salad.

I've LOOOOVED vampire entertainment ever since I was a little kid. Twilight just ruins the genre in terms of Stephenie Meyer's idea of a vampire. I mean, sparkle in the sunlight? And can never die unless torn to pieces by another vampire? Pretty much eliminates vampire hunters from the equation. Makes no sense.

Trueblood was on before the movie Twilight and everyone knows Trueblood is better so yah.............forget all these movies and shows, watch "Nosferatu" the original

Ever since the first Twilight film, vampires wind up becoming just another fan and trend.

I admit, I'm a fan of vampire fiction, from as far back as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, up to and including Anne Rice, Blood Ties, Moonlight, Being Human, and Vampire Diaries.

Twilight not so much. To juvenile. They twinkle? give me a break.
And Anita Blake is too trashy.

I LOVE True Blood.

I read one blogger who predicted the vampire fad will fade soon, and be replaced with the Greek Myth fad, with the Clash of the Titans, the 300, and Percy and the Lightning Thief leading the way.

Maybe, maybe not, but romanticized vampire fiction has been around since Barnabas Collins on "Dark Shadows", so I doubt it will ever go completely away.

I'm all for Vampire, I just hate it when people take it too far. Like thinking that they actually are vampires. Otherwise, keep reading those Twilight books and camping out in front of theaters awaiting the ticket sales for the movie, and recording every episode of True Blood on your Tivo.

Seriously, entertainment is just a business...
So the answer is they are just going to keep making the next new Vamp, reality, or whatever show until you stop watching. It really is that simple...

hollywood bigwigs get off on the fact that, like vampires they will suck all that is juicy out of a franchise/victim. till it's over used or dry, theres more vampire stuff(on t.v. and other) on the way!

Thirty Days of Night was actually pretty entertaining and the Vamps looked extremely real. The Queen of the Damned wasn't too bad either but hey, I like that kind of stuff.

The Vamps I really hate are all of the blood sucking banks. You can get a student loan and put it in the same bank you got it from. They will give you a few pennies (less than $25 bucks) over a years time and turn around and compound the interest quarterly and by the end of the same year you will have racked up at least $600.00 worth of additional debt. Poor people bounce a check and they charge them $35.00 for what. The computers do all of the work and if the bank makes a mistake they are terribly sorry and at their own convenience they correct the mistake and give you nothing.

Why only Vampires when there are so many other creatures to find alluring? I prefer the Succubus. They are more human. Born of Lilith, Adams first wife. No, the Succubus and the Incubus, are sexy and seductive, no blood, no dirt of the crypt involved, just the draining of the souls to feed the half demon, half human. An act of fornication desired by all their prey. Vampires are not the only creatures of the night. You can see which, I prefer, which ones can haunt my door.
