Is God a Republican?

It seems that God has been speaking mostly to Republicans when it comes to the call to serve in public office.
In an interview posted at the Faith & Freedom coalition website, former Christian Coalition leader Ralph Reed asked Sharron Angle, who won Nevada's Republican Senate primary, about her rapid rise. Angle gave a spiritual answer to a political question:
Reed: Sharron, you really came, you know, maybe not out of nowhere, but from the back of the back of the pack to win the Republican primary here in Nevada. There's a new poll out this week that shows you leading Harry Reid by seven or eight points. How do you explain all of this? You're now a national story. Are you kind of overwhelmed by it all?
Sharon Angle: "Not really. I believe that God has been in this from the beginning and because of that, when he has a plan and purpose for your life and you fit into that what he calls you to, he's always equipped people."
God, if you believe His messengers, also spoke to Sarah Palin, George Bush and Norm Coleman, calling them to public office.
Should we take them at their word?
Like many religious people, some politicians view their vocations through a spiritual lens. But in a pluralistic society, how should we interpret these claims?
What other politicians or leaders have you seen claim divine endorsement? How do you interpret their beliefs? Is God a Republican after all?"
http://newsweek.washingtonpost.com/onfaith/undergod/2010/07/is_god_a_republican....
I once saw a bumper sticker that said "God is a conservative, Jesus is a liberal." How do people's religious views line up with their politics?

I dunno, I like Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, there are many others. I would look at how the individual reconciles spiritual belief with service to humanity. Personally, I wish Dr. King and Malcolm X had taken more proactive steps to protect themselves for the long haul. I don't know if their faith had anything to do with their decisions not to be more careful.

unimatrix0 is god,...and jj is the anti-christ. This eternal opposition explains ALL the "current" problems. God doesnt believe in itself,.....but is pretty sure it wants to crucify the "false prophet" in any and all of its manifestation. jj just thinks EVERYTHING is wrong. Cute, but you need to brush up on your mythology. Athena is the Goddess of wisdom, the PRACTICAL arts (meaning metal work, weaving, pottery, martial arts, hardly "arts n crafts"), and heroic endeavors. If she were a femanazi, she wouldn't have taken Ares out with a boulder to the skull, but would have insisted on using her words, and she never would have touched Aphrodite instead she knocked her out by slapping her across the tits. The day I see a feminist do that, I'll eat my panties. On top of that, she was the perfect daughter, and a virgin.... Doesn't sound like the feminist ideal to me.

Now if I start being nice, and call you dear, darling, love, or sir, that's typically a sign that I'm getting annoyed, unless I want to sleep with you, which you shouldn't have to worry about considering the fact that I have no idea where you are.

No, it's not. Separation of church and state means that nothing that has to do with our nation's government should have anything to do with religious preference. By not acknowledging God, or any other religious figure, we are not admitting that they do not exist or that people are silly for believing in them. We are simply not having people conform to a belief structure that they do not conform to.

This will become a burning question that must be answered. Since mankind invented God we will have to assign a party affiliation for him. But if you look at the faces on Mount Rushmore these were not always major party candidates. Certainly, Washington did not have a major party affiliation as none were established. Jefferson was the first Democratic-Republican (what kind of party was that?) Lincoln became President during a major Party split. Even Theodore Roosevelt last ran as a Bull Moose Party candidate.
In keeping with the trend I suggest God be assigned to one of the minor parties. I might prefer to think of God as a Libertarian, but I just cannot seem to resolve the issue that God gave us a very long outdated book full of instructions and would also happen to an anarchist. Therefore, by process of elimination, I suggest that I have proven that God truly is a member of the Green Party.

Maybe in the minds of the feeble , this seems so . I have not met god , so I cannot be sure , but neither can another living person . Unless the cosmos is god , then god is everything . That would allow for free choice . You would then behave like the god you serve . If that god is life affirming or warlike and thoughtless of life , is a personal choice . Perhaps , we seek the god that lives within us already .

People from both parties invoke God. Obama does it all of the time in order to try to impress those who he wants to vote for Democrats. Bush did it all of the time, many Republicans do it , and Democrats as well. They all use God for their own means, and actually in the abstract "God" would not even recognize such an insignificant thing as political parties. So it's a a dumb question simply invoked for political purposes as well.
