I know there are a very few soldiers that enjoy killing. I happen to know one who does. ONE! He is a psychopath that has found a place in the military. He follows his orders and gets to have fun killing. I do not want him for my neighbor. I do not want to support him in prison. However, when he does his duty he does it well, just without heart and that is not the concern of MY army. He IS a good killing machine, we need good killing machines, and that makes him a GOOD soldier and a GOOD American.

There's no contradiction: if a crime can be proven then the criminal should be prosecuted. If an American soldier kills an innocent person then they should be prosecuted as a murderer. This applies to every soldier equally. It is logical that if a person who accepts a job where they will be killing for money, and then proceeds to go about that job with any degree of enjoyment, that said person is a psychopath who is gladly murdering for money.

All of these people are far worse than the contractor in question, who has simply exploited an opportunity offered by his employer. Comparing his 2-bit crime to the crime of a soldier in Iraq or Afghanistan allows us to realise how absurd it is that these people are angry at him.

Of course war is immoral but war is human. To think that all the world would be able to drop their weapons and stop fighting is a laughable fantasy. Here in the real world humans are greedy corrupt and immoral. War on the other hand is very profitable... there will always be an ample supply of people willing to kill for money or other reasons.

Now here is my Free Speech protected opinion. I love my troops. I love those fine Americans. I love my GI relative fighting in Afghanistan right now. I would die for them. I would kill for them repeatedly until my flesh falls from my bones. I only wish we could meet in that field of battle. I believe in the Rules of Engagement, and therefore there and ONLY there I would bleed to meet you. You hate my troops and to me that makes you their enemy, the enemy of America, my enemy IN WAR! And there in the field of battle I would have you. Have no doubt and do fear, for there are others like me who will pop you in battle and cheer like the Devil. Please, do not go to Afghanistan and fight us. Put down your weapon if you are there. You simply do not know what you are doing.
Anyone who hates American Troopers should be killed. I would have no problems using my bare hands to kill them myself. And I would honestly feel no remorse, for those are my beloved soldiers. I would probably feel curious about my behavior, the what drives someone to kill in the name of justice thing. But otherwise I would catch a cold beer after I was done. fun_size, war only occurs because of ruling power. We can debate whether or not the emergence and domination of ruling power in human society was a result of our nature as a species, but it seems clear to me that in 2010 we are mostly mature enough to see that kings and phareohs were never necessary to society and were merely the dominant power during their reign. I believe the same will ultimately be seen to be true of all dominant powers, right down to good ol' democratic government.

War is only profitable for the dominant powers; in an anarchist society there could be no war, as each murderer would be punished for their crimes without a government to protect them.
