screw intel... AMD for life, not because AMD is better, not because AMD is cheaper, but because intel is cheating to control the market... and they made their deal with steve jobs and their storm troopers... plus linux doesn't get virus's :D

Even though statistics would suggest otherwise i think that that argument is irrelevant because of following factors that affect these numbers:
a) Linux isn't as popular, especially with "normal" people, meaning less idiots, less reason to spread viruses
b) Linux might be harder to exploit because of stricter safety, but the majority of viruses gets the access directly via the (supposedly naive) user. Aint no protection against "sudo seegreattits" - 1 year ago

Well its not impossible is what I'm saying. It all depends on popularity of the OS. Someone can write a virus for Linux just as easily as they can for Windowz. However, Linux users are generally more educated and less likely to fall for common traps.

And it's not even that you have to be smart. Ubuntu, Fedora, SUSE, etc. are really easy to use, people just don't know it.

Yeah it's pretty sweet. Ubuntu man myself, but I suppose mint isn't too different since it's based on Ubuntu. I'm planning on compiling Gentoo and installing it on a machine at some point to check it out. Apparently since it's completely customizable, and the user compiles the install packages him/herself it's wicked fast.
