I am voting Republican cause I have never been out of my county (I once went to Mt. Pilot to the picture show with my church to see the "Left Behind" film marathon), only watch FOX News, was born with alcohol fetal syndrome, against abortion but I don't care about the child after its born until it is old enough to join the army and kill people that I don't understand (cause I've never set foot out of my redneck county), but mainly because I'm a moron.

Don't really have much of a choice now do we. Not because I have a lot of faith in the Republican Party but because the platform of the Democrats/liberals (hyphenated because it is not all Democrats but certainly all liberals regardless of party.) are destructive to this country. Seems that a lot of the contry agree with me in this case.

Can you elaborate as to how liberals and Democrats are hurtful to this country? I dont possibly understand how you can say that and then want to vote Republican... they are just as bad if not worse for this country then Democrats. Neither side has all the answers which is EXACTLY why i hate the Republicans because they seem to believe its either their way or no way.

I'm voting Republican, just like I always have, because I believe accountability stands solely on the individual. I've studied enough sociology to know that social norms and behavioral influences are nothing more than frivolous assaults on individuality. Bad things happen to good people and it drives Democrats up the wall. I don't like it any more than you do, but at least I can live with it. I'll continue to vote Republican, because despite what many hard-line liberals think, I think critically, am well educated, and capable of formulating opinions based on rational thought processes and interpretation of any available facts, both bias and un-bias.
Just because we disagree doesn't make either one of us stupid. Deal with it.

wally+Nothing: Your argument = classic cop out. And I point to but one example. The Tea Party's rise within the Republican party and against the Republican establishment. You harken back to a tired argument that may have had relevance during the 90s. But no more I'm afraid. There is, I promise, a candidate somewhere in this nation running for office that supports your world view. They may not be running in your state or in your district, but somewhere there is one. And like the Tea Party has, YOU should seek that candidate out and support them. Instead of making an illogical argument that every candidate is the same. They are not. Whether your support is financial or making the ultimate pledge and volunteering for their campaign, you should become an informed voter and pledge your support. My candidate is Pennsylvania's Senate candidate Sestack. I've been to PA once, but Sestack is a common sense progressive that I can get behind. He's in a hotly contested race against a hardline right winger. The middle has been largely ceded this election cycle. Try thinking outside the box...

I hope you dont think voting for democratic is any better. Choosing a democrat or a republican is like choosing a child rapist or a murdered. You lose either way. We are losing more freedoms every election. I mean sure we will always have disagreements but like Voltaire had said, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." everything has become a great illusion and it seems majority of americans dont even care anymore. They would rather have other people tell them what to do while they watch Jersey Shore and all the other "reality TV shows"

the real question is freedom and liberty. A real AWAKENING is what's needed. Can we find a place to agree? Do you want more freedom? do you want to be able to pursue what you want? Can you allow others that same freedom?

There's a lot of room to converse in that idea, though.
Freedom is a complex idea, so to agree to it blindly, I think, leaves a lot of nuance out of the conversation.
Freedom is a VERY limited concept in the united states. Unlimited freedom leaves space for TONS of abuse of your fellow man.

I'm voting Republican because that's what's popular, and they're the underdog...
Who cares if it's not right.I'm voting Republican because I'm white, and I'm christian, and I live in a conservative state, so I have to vote that way, or I'm not a REAL American.
I'm voting Republican because Sara Palin told me to.
I'm voting Republican because I want to start another war somewhere, send people to die, so I can "Liberate" those countries and put up more Walmarts and McDonald's, you...for Democracy.
I'm voting Republican because less regulation of the housing and financial industry in no way created the economic collapse. Even though it started in 2007, I know it was Obama's fault. ...because he's in power now. ....and he's a muslim.
I'm voting Republican because they support the Military Industrial complex that spends Billions of Dollars every year. I can't wait for them to spend even more.
I'm voting Republican, because ALL democrats are LIBERALs...and ALL liberals are socialist, marxist, communist sympathizers, who will resurrect Hilter and Stalin so that they can run for Office Next term, and turn America into Amerikastan.
I'm voting Republican...I mean TEA PARTY, so that I can smaller government and less taxes, you betcha.
I'm voting Republican because fuck the middle class.
I'm voting Republican because they're rich...and white...and fuck the middle class.
I'm voting Republican so that super awesome bigger businesses won't be threatened by your weak, small, insignificant upstart. Survival of the fittest bitches. If you want to be successful, maybe you should've thought about becoming rich first...duh!
I'm voting Republican because even though the Constitution hasn't changed in 20 years, I know that Democrats are going to put it through the shredder if Republicans aren't there to keep a constant watch on it.
I'm voting Republican because my boss says that Jesus wants me to. And if I don't I might go to hell.
I'm voting Republican because I love pissing off other countries and making my home a target for bombings.
I'm voting Republican because they know what's best for my tax dollars, like making me pay more so that a rich person can keep more of their money. Really, I don't mind.
I'm voting Republican because I love it when they keep bills from passing, like Aid to 9/11 volunteers. Seriously. If you wanted to help people, you should have known that you'd get sick from the debris years later and die from it with no way to pay for you hospital bills. Sorry if it's a "pre-existing condition." Should've thought about that before you saved people. Stupid.
I'm voting Republican because change is bad. I don't care what change...all change is bad. Also, I hate foreigners....and the poor.
I'm voting Republican because scientists are stupid. Don't they know that everything is already in the Bible. ...duh.

For those who think there are no differences between the two parties, and believe that it is time to end the divide between the US and other nations who will hate us for taking more than we deserve: there is still powerful reason to vote Democratic, unless you choose one of the minor parties. Try turning the telescope around and see how the world views Democrats and Republicans.
The 90 percent of the world that you are divided from favors Democrats, usually in range of ratios between 3:1 to 8:1.
The world hates the United States for voting Republican. There is a reason for that. While Democrats may have participated in wars that have gone on for too long most all of the wars in recent memory have been provoked by Republicans. Actions under Democratic administrations, such as in Kosovo had a clear purpose, and could be seen as humanitarian.
If you don't believe me search the internet for world opinion of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Then ask this question: Do you think you could achieve your goal of breaking barriers under a Republican congress and a Republican administration? You will understand what I am talking about.

The republicans have been trying to bankrupt the government because they want to be able to "drown it in a bathtub" ( as one republican strategist quoted). For that last 30 years they have been trying to privatize everything they can get their hands on including using military contractors while take away americans benefits and pensions.
Next time you want to act like you can talk about our social programs like people don't care, remember that over 70% of Americans want their Medicare, Medicate and their Social Security and even if it means billionaires have to pay more in taxes. After all, that is how we kept the deficit low from the 40's until the 80's, when Regan lowered taxes on the rich and started the war against the middle class.

None of us should vote for Republicans... or Democrats for that matter. We should for the person up for candidacy, not their party. Wasn't part of the Tea Party movement's aim to make sure that candidates actually represented true conservative values? More than electability, many have chosen their candidates based on their principles, not their electability.
Regardless of the merits (or lack thereof) of the actual candidates, I think it is admirable that they have actually chosen 'quality' over quantity. Perhaps it is a lesson Democrats should learn... lest we find our majorities in the Congress mean nothing when our candidates are Democrats in name only, and conservatives in their voting records.
Why haven't we seen a similar revolt for the soul of the Democratic Party? Why hasn't there been a revolt to try to install true progressive liberal candidates? We are making fun of the Republicans, when we should be emulating them and choosing candidates who are truly Liberals, not selling out our principles simply because it makes our candidates more electable.
That is why the Democrats are in the situation they are in today, and why the Republicans are so energized and excited about their candidates.

1 the Republicans are out of control of the congress and white house so they risk nothing as they have nothing to loose by trying this tea party thing
2 the democratic base is terrified at the idea of the republicans gaining control of the government again , especially with their heightened rhetoric with fundamentalists in the Tea Party movement.these two thing are the Unique environments that allow the republicans to play their tea party game and that dictate what the democratic electorate must endure to keep out the greater danger that is the republican conservative religious fundies.

I'm not a fan of the current political system.
I want a democracy, not a republic. The government should cut military spending in order to ensure all citizens have access to the internet for the purpose of education as well as the ability to keep up with current events and give feedback to the govt. on current political issues. We could actually have the opportunity to vote on specific issues. Politics and national movements would be more seamless and organic.
I want my voice to be heard on each issue I feel passionately about. I'm tired of voting for "SET A" of ideas or "SET B" of ideas every 4 years only to be lied to. Besides, neither SET is truly representative of what people want.
The whole REPUBLICAN or DEMOCRAT party thing is a miserable compromise for what this nation could accomplish and it inevitably divides the people.

You still fail to realize that labelling people in any way is exactly what got us here. Liberal, Democrat, Republican... they all embody the same greedy, stupid, uneducated, intolerant spirit... because they cling to a label that divides us. We need cooperation. You can't make peace from war. And you can't create cohesion out of hate. Just like you, they spout rhetoric at one another to no avail. There's no point in that.
Get your head out of your ass, ayipis. You waste SO MUCH time here doing this shit, and I honestly have never seen you make one educated comment here, ever. Have you got one for us now? Have you got solutions? Have you ANYTHING constructive to say?
Labels tear us apart. There is a common enemy to us all, and it's injustice and the corporatocracy that takes away our HUMAN RIGHTS and our freedom. You need to learn to cooperate instead of just hate blindly. You are a playing the game exactly like they want you to.

You're seriously OK with a president who under false circumstances invaded a country? In fact now that Saddam's dead there is no country in the Middle East to keep Iran in check. As ruthless as he was and although he definitely deserved to die for what he did to his people, Iran is a greater threat now that Saddam's dead.

I don't give a shit what they "said" the asshole who acted on the information was Bush. After September 11 he asked for Iraq connections to the attack to be found. He invaded the country based on a single informant trying to get his Green Card to Germany. Of all the tyrants to be overthrown Saddam wasn't the best choice.
And I will blame Bush for not having anybody checking Iran.

"While the BP oil geyser pumps millions of gallons of petroleum into the Gulf of Mexico, President Barack Obama and members of Congress may have to answer for the millions in campaign contributions they’ve taken from the oil and gas giant over the years.
BP and its employees have given more than $3.5 million to federal candidates over the past 20 years, with the largest chunk of their money going to Obama, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Donations come from a mix of employees and the company’s political action committees — $2.89 million flowed to campaigns from BP-related PACs and about $638,000 came from individuals.
On top of that, the oil giant has spent millions each year on lobbying — including $15.9 million last year alone — as it has tried to influence energy policy.
During his time in the Senate and while running for president, Obama received a total of $77,051 from the oil giant and is the top recipient of BP PAC and individual money over the past 20 years, according to financial disclosure records.
An Obama spokesman rejected the notion that the president took big oil money."

I'm voting republican because I think Barack Obama is a Muslim.
I'm voting republican because I think TARP happened under Obama and it cost 700 billion dollars, instead of the 300 billion it actually cost, and I'm ignorant of the 150 billion already paid off.
I'm voting republican because I think the health care law will kill my grandma.
I'm voting republican because Glen Beck told me so. - 1 year ago
