Vatican Declares that Homer Simpson is Catholic

Homer Simpson is a Catholic. At least that’s what the Vatican is saying. The official Vatican newspaper has declared that Homer, Bart, and the rest of the Simpson family are practicing Catholics. The newspaper also said that Catholic families should feel free to allow their children to watch “The Simpsons.”

The article, titled “Homer and Bart are Catholics,” read:

“Few people know it, and he does everything to hide it. But it’s true: Homer J. Simpson is Catholic.”

According to the Associated Press, it is the second time that “The Simpsons” has been praised for its religious values. But executive producer Al Jean is a little confused, since the Simpsons clearly attend a presbylutheran church.

Jean said:

“We’ve pretty clearly shown that Homer is not Catholic. I really don’t think he could go without eating meat on Fridays — for even an hour.”

The Vatican paper cited a study by a Jesuit priest on an episode in 2005 called “The Father, the Son, and the Holy Guest Star.” According to the study, “The Simpsons” is “among the few TV programs for kids in which Christian faith, religion and questions about God are recurrent themes.”

      Why does the vatican give a shit? Homer Simpson may, by all means, be a Catholic. But does the vatican really want children to be looking up to him? The show is so popular because people get the chance to laugh at someone MORE STUPID than they are. Homer's backwards ass thought process should never be emulated by anyone. Not even a Catholic.

      Stop trying to justify your way of life by claiming cartoon show characters are prescribing to the same beliefs.
