Decomposing Hamburgergate: Now with 100% more science!

It hit the web a while back how McDonald's burgers where not decomposing fast enough, causing much horror online. Though a writer on Boing Boing (and not a blog about burger love) points out there is a good reason why they didn't mold over fast enough.

"just what happens to meat products and bread when you leave them out in the open air. Think about the last hunk of baguette you didn't finish. Same thing. Basically, the food dries out before it has a chance to rot."-Boing Boing

The picture shows what happens when you add moisture by closing the meaty food in a bag.

    • And this is a revelation? I am pretty sure I made the comment that it didn't decompose because it didn't have water when the story first appeared. I think I said that it would be a great way to get a few bucks from the fast food industry. I hope this guy got paid for pointing out the obvious.

    • I won't eat McDonald's anymore. Too many additives & chemicals. They never get my order right anyway. I used to eat that crap too much for awhile there. I'm pretty much done with fast food altogether, its all nasty. That chicken nugget video that was on here a month or so ago changed the way I look at food.
