tired of the spam

They use countless different IPs, probably a new one with every spam. On the other hand, it should not be technically challenging to create a filter that automatically blocks postings containing the various different urls the spammers include in their posts.

Actually, they are indeed spam, they are forum spam. Spam is the use of electronic messaging systems (including most broadcast media, digital delivery systems) to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately. Forum spam is the creating of messages that are advertisements or otherwise unwanted on Internet forums. It is generally done by automated spambots. Most forum spam consists of links to external sites, with the dual goals of increasing search engine visibility in highly competitive areas such as weight loss, pharmaceuticals, gambling, pornography, real estate or loans, and generating more traffic for these commercial websites. Some of these links contain code to track the spambot's identity if a sale goes through, when the spammer behind the spambot works on commission.

Spam gets a bum rap. Ask any old Russian Soldier from WWII. The USA kept them from starving to death during the war. They ate Tons of it.

The links are valid but lead to sites which place malware on their visitors' computers. I think these spammers are a huge team in China, trying to sell cheap goods while sabotaging people's computers.

We should hire these guys to run the economy in America. Seriously. Leveraging their exposure three ways. Paid for what someone might buy. Probably paid per click for the traffic then whatever you scam with the malware.

I'm sure that's not true, but it's not really an Asian thing, so it makes it appear somewhat inauthentic when presented as a Chinese artifact.

i originally designed it for jan4gore... i thought she needed to start blogging, but then i asked a few others to contribute, then i installed the buddypress plugin and created a whole new site where anyone can register and post stories. VC2 FTW!!!
