The corporations need to be held accountable for creating an unsafe situation. Granted, it's the shoppers that were running (not to mention failing to help when the situation turned into a trampling), but it was all created because the store set the stage and enticed these people through a "limited quantity" sale.

I worked at a Target, today; fortunately I had mid-shift--but it wasn't this chaotic at our store in the morning according to coworkers. On the other hand, I refuse to shop on Black Friday out of principle. Why Americans "buy" into this, I don't know.

A couple of things. For one, you've got to be a moron to stand in line at midnight or whenever the fuck, to save a couple of bucks. Or get a cheap computer. Or to just join the herd.

Two, has anyone noticed that this Black Friday shit gets worse every year? It's because people see this shit on TV that they have to get there at midnight, wait in line until 7 in the morning when the store opens, and be a part of this "happening". This stuff is orchestrated by the media. For fucks sake, why would anyone want to be a part of this? Apparently, the advertising is successful, there were idiots at our Best Buy since Tuesday morning, I guess they don't have jobs to go to, or that buying something there is more important than going to work. I suppose that there isn't anything more important, like taking care of your kids, or maybe volunteering to help out at a soup kitchen or something, anything, than trying to get on the local news by being at some store for 72 hours waiting for a deal on something.

And Freecrack, rent-a-cops have no authority, or power, to do anything to stop whatever is going to happen. They are just paid to stand there, they can't touch anyone, they can't tell anyone what to do, they certainly can't arrest anyone, and have absolutely no authority over you or I, to try to control anyone. And I for one, am not going to risk getting trampled for minimum wage, even if it includes all the free popcorn I can eat!

The thing that caught my attention was how damned fat all these fools are, my God.

I went to Target last night in NJ, waited online for hours.
Sure the people were calm & orderly, but when i got home my flatscreen looked like the guys in the stock room were stampeding.

(long story short)
i waited all night, was sold a cracked tv, no more in stock, played the tired outraged consumer and walked away with a much nicer model.
