If Only John Lennon’s War On America Was Over; Sadly, It Didn’t Die With Him
He called himself “anti-war,” but John Lennon’s war on America was one of the most damaging to our nation, not in the cost of lives, but at a cost far more long-lasting. The guy’s great “contributions” to the Western world were glorifying the sexual revolution and drug use, both of which led to the greatest problems facing America today in the breakdown of our society on all fronts: families, education, and America’s place in the world. The counterculture he helped lead destroyed America. Not sure why that’s anything to celebrate.
And, no, I don’t remember where I was when the guy got shot. I only remember where I was when Ronald Reagan got shot. One man was great and freed major parts of the world. The other had scraggly long hair and was exchanging bodily fluids with a self-important gadfly guru-ette, named Yoko.
On top of all that, John Lennon was a phony. He was a limousine liberal who lived in a fancy New York Dakota apartment and lived like a king, while preaching about a world with no possessions or greed. Funny, he wrote that song under the tutelage of one of the most material women in the world, multi-millionairess/near-billionairess Yoko Ono. The Ono-Lennons were the most capitalist anti-capitalists ever. And they laughed at you all the way to the bank. They might have been naked as they did it (another of their attention-getting, sleazy marketing stunts), but they laughed at you, nonetheless. And Yoko is still laughing in her Barney’s designer clothes. Imagine, indeed.
Sorry, but while the guy was a talented musician and songwriter (as were all of The Beatles), that’s about it. Lennon wasn’t a saint. He wasn’t a genius. And he’s not an important part of history in any way. Not even close. John Lennon may be important to aging baby boomers in remembering their pot-smoking, free-love days. But when they’re gone, hopefully, he’ll have no place in history. There’s just nothing historic about Lennon or anything he did. Nothing good or important, anyway.
Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away;
Plus I didn’t have to hear about “Saint” John Lennon every single second of the day

he beat both his wives (yes – do the research), sexually harassed May Pang and told his friends he would fire her from his office to get rid of her from his life, heroin abuser, cheated on both wives, had to be treated for STD numerous times, mentally and emotionally abused his youngest son Sean (check “John” by Cynthia Lennon), abandoned his eldest son Julian as his father had abandoned him, appeared in a film naked with Yoko’s young daughter Kyoko – who loathed him and told the judge she did not want to live with him.

I never said anything about me doing it I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy. I do not believe John Lennon was perfect, I believe he was a tortured soul who could not bring himself together and as a result he made a lot of mistakes. But it is not a mans mistakes that make him, it is his success in spite of those mistakes. Men are not made of flaws but rather that scars those flaws have left.

Well, what happened was crystalman did his thing, then congoboy not only agreed with crystalman, but stated that it was a trait of liberal leaders. Knowing him, he's completely ignoring that republican leaders are equally morally fucked up. Then littlwarrior chimed in to say that, yeah, guess what, republicans can be and sometimes are as shitty as republican leaders when it comes to being morally fucked up.
Then you said littlwarrior was trying to say that its ok for liberals to do it if republicans do it, when I took part in the conversation to say that was not the case.
So in essence, littlwarrior isn't pointing out that its ok for libs to do what repubs do, but was explaining to congoboy that he hasn't got a very good stage to preach on about what libs do or do not do to or with their families.
Do you feel that congoboy's comment was equally douchey as littlwarriors? He was also off topic.

Yes, Lennon was an uber douche. Congoboy was trying to say it's a characteristic in some liberal leaders. He said "sounds like all the best qualities for a leftylib hero" as though liberals search out to vote for these people. As though we admire those qualities.
If someone wants to say that about a group of people, they should be ready to have their statements opposed. If congoboy believes that only liberals have ever voted for douchebags, he's in for an awakening. Republican leaders can be just as bad douchebags as anyone else.
I think when someone attacks a group of people for having a certain trait, that group is well within their rights to point out that the attacker also has membership in a group with those SAME traits. It's not a diversionary tactic, it's more of a "what's your point, dude, you're not much more special than we are. Let's get back to the topic at hand, which is why Lennon is a douche bag, not how republicans are supposedly better than liberals."
And if you, in fact, want to get into the hypocrisy bit, well, republicans have a platform based on family values, right? Well if someone bases their entire platform on policing behavior within families and then goes out to have gay sex and cheating on their wife, is that not also hypocrisy?

Comedy. I guess you can make a bigger case for the story to be here instead of news. Yes Debbie Schlussel is quite the comedienne. Going after a peace activist who has been dead for 30 years is really brave and funny. I still haven't recovered from the devastation left behind by John Lennon's attempt to destroy this country. The candlelight vigil we held when he died was a cover so we could start lighting things on fire and overturning cars. Thank God Regan was elected and order restored.
Debbie should update her website photo to accurately reflect the plasticized troll-beast she really is.

Ok, let's break this down.
Debbie Schlussel doesn't hate John Lennon so much as the legacy that John Lennon left, is that what we are to understand here?
Well Lennon's legacy isn't about moral and sexual depravity, it's an anti-war legacy, which is what Schlussel REALLY hates.
See, Zionists like Schlussel secretly, and sometimes overtly love war and love to hate. Hate "them" that is. War is no problem for them, and if possible, the desired status quo is perpetual warfare and hate, espeically if they don't have to do the fighting.
This is why she had to slip in a little dig about "oppressed Islamic terrorists"; because she wishes for a perpetual war on terror, against the evil "them."
This is a rather interesting viewpoint to have from someone who grew up in a time of relative peace and prosperity, but not really a surprising view point from someone who grew up in a miltiary household. One has to wonder if the Schlussel household used common slurs such as gooks, ragheads, wops and schvartzes when referring to the evil "them."
I would recommend that Schlussel and her rabid followers of armchair war cheerleaders Islamophobes and assorted hatemongers to drop their charades.
If they are really wanting to strike at the root of the cause of moral and sexual depravity, they should look no futher than Hollywood, and the poisonous mainstream media, of which Schlussel is a willing participant and asset, and not at Lennon's anti-war legacy.

This is obviously meant to piss a lot of good people off who know what Mr. Lennon has and hasn't done for the people of America. Regardless if you are a Beatles fan or not I'd like to think we have enough decency to respect a dead man. But I guess not. The best thing to do is down it and keep going. You can't win an argument against someone who does everything for the thrill of pissing everyone off.

The problem was also who they were fighting. Its difficult to distinguish guerrilla troops from the general populace... which in part led to many mass killings of civilians. Had the gloves come off and there been a serious invasion of North Vietnam with sustained aerial bombardment the war likely wouldve ended much sooner and in our favor. The soldiers didnt lose the war... the politicians did.

Bullshit for the masses? No its called military history. Had we actually taken the gloves off and targeted North Vietnam directly instead of just fighting a defensive war in South Vietnam the results would have likely been very different. Our forces avoided the Ho Chi Minh trail, the major supply line of the NVA for almost the entire war because it cut through Laos. As a result all the North Vietnamese troops and Vietcong had to do was keep throwing their soldiers against us in waves til we finally succumbed to the negative public opinion of the war. We lost because of politicians and the anti-war movement back home not because our soldiers were incompetent.
Afghanistan is very similiar in that public opinion has shifted entirely against the war. However Bush is to blame for the failure of the war. Had he not shifted hundreds of thousands of troops out of Afghanistan to invade Iraq for no reason we wouldve been done there years ago. Instead the Taliban and Al Qaeda were given plenty of time and breathing space to regroup and rearm in Pakistan and they came back stronger than ever. Obama inherited that shitsandwich from Bush. I dont particularly like Obama's "strategy" if you can even call it that but i just want to get the fuck out of there now. Theres no "winning" there anymore.
