7 Year Old buys Harrier Fighter Jet on Ebay!

The seven year old kid hit the “buy it now” button to go ahead and purchase the fighter jet. His father was quick to discover what his tiny brat had done and immediately contacted the sellers and requested the transaction to be canceled. The jet was being sold at the auction site by Jet Art Aviation. A spokeswoman said, ”His dad rang up and profusely apologized to us, so it’s still for sale. We’ve put it on as an auction now so that won’t happen again”.

I have always loved the Harrier, and wondered if one could buy one and refurbish it. I recently found out that a former Navy test pilot did just that:

Well he wouldn't have a problem with bullies after that. Honestly if I were 7 and had the money I would totally buy this thing, hell if I had the money I would buy it now. I have no idea what I would do with it but I still want it. Ah to be rich, (sigh) guess I will just have to be happy with my small arms and all their fun.

That would be amazingly fantastic if it was in flying condition. Such a fun plane to have! I would paint it up in day-glo pink with green and blue racing stripes.
Too bad it'd cost ... what, a couple of million to make airworthy? I think some of the hover stuff isn't allowed to be used commercially either.

I cant find the article cause it was a while ago I read it, but the Japanese (i think like I said a while ago) are working on remotely manned robots that could be used for military purposes. Imagine if the US could field an army of all its gamers behind remotely manned bots? No one could ever tangle with us again, we could rule the world! Just pick your region and your bot and off to war everyday after work.

Kinda the bots were bulkier and no flying, and you didn't get to be inside the bot, it was all remotely controlled, but they already do with strike drones, why not land drones. Build them cheap enough and the world would be ours for the taking. We could usher in a new age of ultimate imperialism. Sure it would be heinously immoral, and a gross violation of every human right ever thought of, but it would be terribly fun. And finally I could fulfill my dreams of being greater than Alexander the great, Julius Caesar, and Caesar Augustus.

Depends on the age of the tank, I hear you can pick up a Sherman for a decent price, like 50,000 or something. I don't remember for sure one of my neighbors bought one. he got it taken away though, took out a loan he couldn't afford.

I always wanted a C-130 rigged for paratroopers. Imagine yourself and 63 friends getting dumped out at 2750 ft over your favorite neighborhood, beach or Burning-Man. Most fun I ever had in the Army and safer than playing football.

I know that "second amendment solutions" are not the answer, and would not use such tactics to insure the fence separating my yard from my neighbor was in it's right place, however, I LOVE THE HARRIER JET!!!! and I want one.....lol Yes, I'd remove all the Bang! Well, the NRA is against assault weapons bans and the banning of any kind of firearm. Several Republicans have mentioned that the 2nd Amendment allows for citizens to arm themselves so that they may be able to retake the country from a Tyrannical government. We all know that our Government maintains the largest military arsenal in the world. So, if the Republicans truly believe that it is the right of the people to have firearms to overthrow a tyrannical government, then they would also believe it to be appropriate for private citizens to legally obtain and maintain military weapons of war.
Though I find it doubtful that any such measures would be passed, encouraged or spoken of by the Republicans; their proposed logic in defending a person's right to own assault weapons or high-capacity clips would point them in the direction of allowing private citizens to own weapons of war; conceivably even weapons of mass destruction.

AWESOME ! Had never heard of it !
- - - Leonard v. Pepsico, Inc., 88 F. Supp. 2d 116, (S.D.N.Y. 1999), aff'd 210 F.3d 88 (2d Cir. 2000), more widely known as the Pepsi Points Case,
is a contracts case tried in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York in 1999, in which the plaintiff, John Leonard, sued PepsiCo, Inc. in an effort to enforce an "offer" to redeem 7,000,000 Pepsi Points for a AV-8 Harrier II jump jet, which PepsiCo had shown in a portion of a televised commercial that PepsiCo argued was intended to be humorous.
The plaintiff did not collect 7,000,000 Pepsi Points through the purchase of Pepsi products, but instead sent a certified check for $700,008.50 as permitted by the contest rules. Leonard had 15 existing points, paid $0.10 a point for the remaining 6,999,985 points, and a $10 shipping and handling fee.
The claim alleged both breach of contract and fraud. The case was finally heard in 1999, during which time the defendant moved for summary judgment pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 56. Among other claims made, Leonard claimed that a federal judge was incapable of deciding on the matter, and that instead the decision had to be made by a jury consisting of members of "the Pepsi generation", to whom the advertisement would allegedly constitute an offer.[1] - 1 year ago
