I am closely connected to the case without bias either way and this is just an example of over eager DA (up for election) meets bad journalism that sensationalizes and then villafies the suspect before any evidence is brought forth. How stupid can any teacher be to have sex with a student let a lone an underage student -- colleges and universities have rules about this so why would it or could it be any different in high school. even if the student(s) were of age this would not be a good thing

She should have known better, yes. I'm sorry, but what are we talking about here? 17 to 18 yr olds. Besides the girl friend, I don't think these guys were " damaged" or ruined for life. I think as in most cases we should look at the "intent" of the law. Don't think lawmakers had protecting healthy 17 yr. old males from consensual sex from female teachers in mind.

They didn't mention the ages of these 'teens'. Were they Freshman- 13, 14 yr olds? or were they Juniors or Seniors - around 17 -18 yrs old? I think that might make a lot of difference, no?

Teachers build the community and nation for the next generation.

We find people of dubious characters becoming teachers; in fact many of them become one because they feel it is a soft job(it is not) and easy money.

Passion for children , learning , communication skills , patience, impeccable character are the prerequisites.

Children spend more time with teachers than with parents.

Unless a system is evolved to identify really potential teachers we shall have perverts like this.

Very disturbing. Teacher-student relationships should be based on trust, respect, and integrity. This is so sad. Students often turn to teachers when they have something they need help with, but are afraid to tell parents and know their friends aren't the right person to ask either. It's so unfortunate that anyone would abuse the amazing privilege and responsibility it is to teach.
