    • Climatologists have warned about fresh water from melting tundra and glaciers entering the north Atlantic and slowing or shutting down the Meridional Overturning Circulation and causing colder winters or even an ice age for over 30 years now. You deniers make fun of this all the time so you know it's true.
January 2011 was the warmest January ever recorded in the Arctic. The record cold and snowfall all across the northern temperate zone is the result of weather patterns dramatically shifting due to Arctic heating and melting.
Americans don't know jack about global warming and resulting climate change because most Americans are scientifically illiterate.

"Americans don't know jack about global warming..."
And you have proved time and time again that your knowledge on the subject is somewhat lacking - to say the very least! "EVERY life form, even rocks, are affected." you wrote. Now we have to fear for the poor rocks?

Are most Americans scientifically illiterate? That's a fairly sweeping statement, one which I'm sure will alienate you from many Americans. What is true, though, is that when people start to read more about the climate change story (the political story, and the extremists' manipulation of data for their own gains) they uncover a whole different view from what the extremists want them to see.
Now you write about colder winters and give your reasons (laughable as they are). Then you tell us that the Arctic is melting. So one one hand you say the northern hemisphere is experiencing its coldest winter ever, yet the Arctic somehow isolates itself from the extreme cold and melts?
Yes, Arctic ice extent fell to an all-time low (for January) in January 2011, but this is only using data that goes back less than a decade. Arctic ice has been at a lower extent in previous years.
Today, temperatures above 80degrees north are hovering around -30 Celisus, Ice extent has been above 2006 levels since the middle of January. Don't expect to see an ice-free Arctic this year... or next... or the year after... or...

Obviously you've never heard of stromatalites -- rocks that a billion years ago singlehandedly formed an oxygen atmosphere on Earth. Google it.
Also you know nothing about "Rock Weathering" -- a significant atmospheric CO2 remover.
You are a perfect example of scientific illiteracy, which research shows is epidemic in America.

"You are a perfect example of scientific illiteracy," says the person who cannot spell Stromatolites
"Obviously you've never heard of stromatalites" Stromatolites have been around for billions of years, how much climate change do you think they've experienced? And now you tell me they're in danger because the planet took over a century to warm half a degree as it recovered from a cold period?
And "Rock Weathering" is in danger? Look how many days it took you to come up with the world's most tenuous link between rocks and the mythical man-made Global Warming? Well done... I'm really convinced now!
