The Wisconsin Recall efforts 'just got supercharged!'

Help us punish them. We're increasing our TV ad buy in the districts of Republicans who are up for recall -- and we'll add radio and online ads.
Wisconsin Senate Republicans rammed through a bill taking away workers' rights. It's shameful, unprecedented, and probably illegal. We can't let them get away with this. We have to recall the Republican state senators and the who did this.
Right now there are 8 Republican state Senators up for recall campaigns. Progressives in Wisconsin have already gathered thousands of signatures to do just that, but they need our help to get the job done.
Can you help make sure these Senators lose their seats over their outrageous actions by chipping in what you can to the Wisconsin Democratic Party, which is organizing the recall efforts right now?

Have everybody quietly leave. When everyone is gone and the republicans are the only ones left, chain the doors shut. Super glue the hinges and windows shut. Cut off all power and water. Then walk away.

This last election should have taught all lefties a serious lesson, if you are pissed off about not getting everything we wanted the answer is not to sit home in protest, GO VOTE.
Leading into the 2010 election all the polls kept coming back to the same conclusion, Dems were favored among the general population, but the cons were winning with those likely to vote.
Mid-term elections aren't sexy enough usually to draw huge voter turn out, especially with young voters or people just too tired after a long days work. Seniors tend to vote to the right, maybe out of nostalgia for a time when republicans actually sided with America over the plutocrats, and unfortunately they realize that voting is important. And WE have to realize that it is important, more important now than ever before. For if we do not seize upon the election of 2012 and stand united with our feet on the ground, bringing our voices to the public one door at a time we will be drowned out by the corporate air waves and the bottomless coffers of the wealthy.
No more should we have to hear the term working poor.
No more should we have families going homeless.
No more children going hungry.
No more giving billions to corporations to send jobs overseas.
No more tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires.
No more should we hear millionaires on TV calling teachers and firefighters greedy for expecting to earn a decent wage.
No more Plutocracy!
Vote. - 1 year ago

Unfortunately for our friends in Wisconsin, they are paying the price for the reactionary right-wing tsunami in November. Tax cuts for the rich and corporations while dismantleing workers rights is just the beginning. If Koch-Walker's budget is implemented, then this once glorioius state will become Mississippi-North. If three of the Koch sucking senators are recalled, the damage can be mitigated until such time that Koch-Walker can be sent permanently to the Koch party in Cali. I have and will continue to send money to help with the recall efforts. All of these events reinforce the lesson my union member grandfather taught me 60 years ago. YOU NEVER, NEVER, NEVER VOTE FOR A FUCKING REPUBLICAN. I never have.

Doesn't it suck that democracy costs money? I find it difficult to pay for a voice. Meanwhile, back in reality, it's how things are I guess. I just wish it wasn't. Sad.

We cannot win the money=voice war against corporations. Our corporate Supreme Court made sure of that via their crazy Citizens' United ruling. Attacking unions is a battle in the same war. Our democracy will be decided via commercials people see while watching Dancing with the Stars. Idiocracy indeed!

I'm pretty sure that the action of the Citizens' United decision will piss off both sides eventually; mandating the constituional amendment across the country regardless of party affiliation. That's the beauty of wide-sweeping decisions from the court.

This is what America needs. Don't vote! Revolt!
Let the Republicans turn the country over to Wall Street. At the very least it will fuel the fire of revolution like never before. Voting in Democrat appeasers like Obama is just quelling the people and repressing them into submission.
If you must vote, vote independent. There are a few good Democrats like Weiner, Grayson, Conyers, and Kucinich. But they are far and few between and Obama is not among them.

Actually, Gore had won the popular vote regardless of the independent politicians who suctioned voted off of him.
What put George and Rove in power was the supreme court, which voted along political lines rather than upholding the rights of the voters, to come to it's decision.

But this was done in the first 2 months of their tenure in office. Recall is needed to show that this kind of thing cannot just be pulled out of a hat when they get into office without campaigning on it. Recall will be in the mind of future candidates across the country if this is done!

I love Bernie Sanders; he is a socialist, and doesn't mind telling the country so. We need more candidates like him. Look, he hasn't been punished for preaching his beliefs, he gets reelected every term by a good margin. We need honesty in government, not lifelong politicians who will say, and pander to whom they need to get reelected term after term.

Jason,
This WI woman thanks you from the bottom of her heart! Your family is from here? Cool! Yes, WI is normally good people. Thanks for posting this and spreading the word about getting these 8 slugs out of office. All we need is 3 to turn the majority back to the Dems...but we will take 8 if we can get it! Again, I thank the Current community. You guys rock! Peace, love and gratitude to all of you. - 1 year ago

It hurts me to see this because I know what it's like in the rest of the country and Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin are special places. I hate to think that these places where people respect each other for their separate views will vanish.
Those Republicans in the senate showed no respect to their Democratic counterparts and that is not the Midwestern way! If I were a Republican I would be fighting this with the same veracity, it has nothing to do with political party, and it is about respect.
Each night I watched from the Lone Star State with a $35B deficit (we are a right to work state, and it works so well), I saw the Democrats show respect to their Republican senate colleagues out of state. This is something I cannot say I saw from the Republicans in the state senate. Glenn Grothman especially outraged me when he called the protestors "slobs" on "The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell," and was completely unapologetic about it. I will support "y'all" from here as best I can; I just hope it will be enough. I know the protesters are putting in their hearts and souls every day in the cold when we have 75 degree weather.
I reciprocate and thank you in your effort to save the Wisconsin I know. One thing I do know, the next election will not be a close one (happily)!

It's terrible that the Midwest Reps lost their sense of civility. For them to march in lockstep behind this working class hating dictator is a disgrace. And hurl such insults in the process. You're right about the next election. I will keep fighting my hardest to make that happen! :)

Well I think with the appetite of the state at this point, and with the recall elections at this point, 2/3 majority is not out of the question by any means. More of a reason for people to chip in, so the Wisconsin Democratic Party can buy TV and Radio time to urge the great midwestern people I know of Wisconsin to sign the recall petition and get out the vote!
I only wish I could vote myself, I unfortunately can only vote against the current Republican Governor of Texas, Rick Perry who is also the leader of the Republicans' Governors' Association. I must admit this is a futile vote, yet I will cast it every time I can.

Yes! I am from Texas and founded the group and has donated previously to the defeated campaign to maintain the Wisconsinites rights. You will see all the restrictions when you go to donate, there aren't many. It basically just has to be a personal contribution, not corporate.
But please donate they need to get these 8 recalled in this session so they can restore the rights that they have had for over 60 years! All of my family is from there, and this is just a horrible act that the corporate interests are doing to try to unify the country under Republican rule. It's shameful how this state of normally good people did this.

I have no idea why, I confirmed my e-mail and can login but it gives me an error, are you a contributor? If you are, can you post it? I don't need credit I just want Wisconsin to be restored to what it was before these 8 Republicans gained office.
Anyone else have any other place to post this contribution site to? I've e-mailed it to every Wisconsin Democratic Senator and Staffer as well as posting it here. We must get these guys out of office.
