I originally typed "Fox is the bestest source of information." A reference to Hannity's absurdity when he used the word bestest to describe America. I then changed it because it would have been too obvious that I was about to dis Fox. Personally I think it is more effective to be less obvious with this attempt at humor. I lack knowledge of politics, this was just an attempt at humor.

Actually, you can save time by limiting your viewing to Glenn Beck. He uses chalkboards, so it's like being in school. I always feel smarter when his show is over.

Truth is not available from a single source. Never has been. Diverse inputs from all sides presents a more accurate picture.

"There is no need for the viewer to fret over facts, details, opinions, and try to formulate their own opinions."
So I'm supposed to LET FOX TELL ME what the facts and details are (as THEY see them!) AND THEN TURN MY BRAIN OFF?! I am supposed to just take Faux News at its word? I don't even take the news outlets I like at their word! As for no need for formulating an opinion, FORMING AN OPINION IS VITAL PART OF A LIVING, BREATHING DEMOCRACY!
If you and your "analytical brain" are content to be led by the nose down the garden path by Faux News, all I can say is it's a free country. Enjoy your bliss.

Again it's another race to the bottom. Comparing the relatively poor standards of both is no acheievement that Fox come out ahead.
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/mon-august-23-2010/the-parent-company-trap
It is only that Team Evil has a more consistent focus at Fox and they outnumber Team Stupid there, so they can maintain a better record.
Team Stupid is more dominant with competing agendas at Current so that even Team Evil has no foothold so each ends up with as much of an effect as "fart in a windstorm"
The BIG difference is that there isn't much people here can do about the facts presented by Fox but there is a LOT members can do to FACT CHECk the stories they post on Current.
http://current.com/blog/92991481_posting-a-news-story-a-primer.htm#92998916
But all avaiable evidence shows that comparing Current to Fox, complaining about the lack of facts, even asking for improvements to the stories in order to raise the standards above the level of Fox will do just as much good as a "fart in a windstorm"
Because not enough people on Current will put in the effort to change it or even admit that the standards are so low with all the competing agendas

Everyone needs to watch this Video. I've actually posted it before
right here on Current when people refuse to believe Fox distorts,
lies and manipulates their stories to continue their hate and
fear mongering agenda.Intelligent people are empowered.

Classic Jon Stewart episode. I saw it when it first aired. August K is right....everyone needs to see this. I do agree with the premise of the video. If they don't know what the money link represents, they would have to be totally stupid. But it does represent the evil genius of Rubert Murdoch/Roger Ailes. They know they can but this out to their viewers, because their on air personalities can play stupid so well, so they can get away with claiming not to know the ties to FOX. They know the viewers won't question it. Where here at Current, we do the research and blow FOX's credibility out of the water.

I wonder if it works if you just switch the truth - lie part. What they say is true is a lie, what they say is a lie is true. Well, now that we have the content fixed, what are we going to do about the asshole problem?

This is a little off topic, but I wonder what Olbermann is going to bring in regards to news to Current.
I think it will be more than a 1 hour editorial.
I hope Current will reinvent news.

If you saw more of Keith on Sunday Night Football than on MSNBC, you never watched COUNTDOWN. The man brought important news to the forefront on a nightly basis. he spoke truth to power and called out those who deserved it on both sides of the political spectrum. Given the constraints of GE's corporate ownership of MSNBC, Keith regularly put himself on the line. Especially with his Special Comments. Followers of Keith like me, felt he said the things that needed to be said more than anyone on any news show outside of his. For those of you who are fretting about what Keith will bring to Current, I think your worrying for nothing. I'm anticipating more of a Dan Rather/Amy Goodman type view of the day's news. It will be a news show free of corporate control, which will be a breath of fresh air regardless.
