Trump repeats false claims about Obama's birthplace.

Summary

If Donald Trump worked for us, we’d have to say: "Donald, you’re fired — for incompetence." The successful developer and TV celebrity says he’d make a good president, and maybe he would — we take no stand either way about that. But when it comes to getting facts straight, he fouls up again and again on the basics of President Barack Obama’s birth. As a rookie reporter, he just wouldn’t make it.

He claims the president’s grandmother says Obama was born in Kenya. In fact, the recording to which he refers shows Sarah Obama repeatedly saying through a translator: "He was born in America."
He claims that no hospital in Hawaii has a record of Obama’s birth. Hospital records are confidential under federal law, but Honolulu’s Kapi’olani Medical Center has published a letter from Obama calling it "the place of my birth," thus publicly confirming it as his birthplace.
He insists that the official "Certification of Live Birth" that Obama produced in 2008 is "not a birth certificate." That’s wrong. The U.S. Department of State uses "birth certificate" as a generic term to include the official Hawaii document, which satisfies legal requirements for proving citizenship and obtaining a passport.
He claims that there’s no signature or certification number on the document released by Obama. Wrong again. Photos of the document, which we posted in 2008, clearly show those details.
He says newspaper announcements of Obama’s birth that appeared in Hawaii newspapers in 1961 "probably" were placed there fraudulently by his now-deceased American grandparents. Actually, a state health department official and a former managing editor of one of the newspapers said the information came straight from the state health department.
He claims "nobody knew" Obama when he was growing up and "nobody ever comes forward" who knew him as a child. "If I ever decide to run, you may go back and interview people from my kindergarten," Trump said. Well, two retired kindergarten teachers in a 2009 news story fondly recall teaching a young Barack Obama.

The evidence that Obama was born in the U.S.A. is so overwhelming that we haven’t had much to say lately about the sort of bogus claims that Trump repeats. Hawaii’s top official in charge of vital records stated long ago, for example, that the confidential records underlying Obama’s official birth certificate show that he was born in Hawaii and is "a natural born American citizen."

But when a leading prospect for the Republican presidential nomination embraces and repeats these spurious claims and groundless conspiracy theories on national television, we are forced to wade into this swamp once again.       The Presidency is a puppet position anyway why not have Trump the entertainer? IF HE MESSES UP WE FIRE HIM?!

A letter from Obama saying he was born somewhere is confirmation, a Certification of Live Birth showing no details regarding doctor etc. is gospel, a relative saying it is so, and two teachers who remember BHO being in an elementary school in Hawaii is proof that he was born in that state? Even Inspector Clouseu would not believe that.

      As an aside, at that time my parents lived on Webster St. by St. Paul's Episcopal Church Rock Creek. I believe the number was 200 Webster. If you Google it you will find a real estate listing. Rock Creek Cemetery is next to the church. Scan out and you can see it. Have a nice day.

      I also lost some friends. Most because of the e-mails calling the president a muslim, no birth records, cartoons of him as Hitler, pimp. They depressed me. so I blocked them. When they called, I didn't answer.

      Aside from that, the reality is that Obama is a fraud. Now if you like frauds as presidents, then you'll be very happy when he's re-elected. However, if you actually have any respect for the constitution of the United States of America, you just might feel a bit betrayed.

    • Obama would have been denied an entry level position in any branch of the military had he shown up to enlist without a valid copy of his birth certificate. Additionally, witholding his college transcripts and other documentation would have also disqualified him. He's a puppet that is being protected by his handlers.

      The obfuscation of the facts regarding his eligibility has been ongoing and it becomes more and more startling as we proceed down the slippery slope toward tyranny. The constitutional requirement that any person holding the office of POTUS be a "natural born" citizen has been totally ignored.

      The fact of the matter is that even if Obama was born in Hawaii, as is claimed by his supporters, he wouldn't be eligible because his father was a Kenyan national who never became a US citizen. According to Emmerich de Vattel's Law of Nations - the primary source for this and other issues that the framers relied upon during the writing of the constitution, a person can only be considered natural born if both parents were either natural born citizens or naturalized at the time of that person's birth. According to Vattel, neither Neil nor Katie are, by definition, natural born US citizens - nor is Obama.
      This fact has been totally ignored by everyone in the media - including Donald Trump. Instead, the focus has been on whether Obama was born in Hawaii and the controversy continues, unabated. That "born in Hawaii" claim is entirely irrelevant when one considers the truth that is hidden in plain view. The issue of Obama's eligibility with respect to whether he is natural born is the elephant in the room everyone is ignoring - from the Congress to the Senate to the Supreme Court to the mainstream media.
      The US population has been so dumbed down that they don't even know US history and basic civics anymore. They only know what they hear on their television sets.

Haven’t we had enough of rule by the rich a la Mayor Michael “Richie Rich” Bloomberg and others? Do you really think these wealthy people are seeking office for the common good? Doesn’t every decision a guy like Bloomberg makes become tainted with his own self-interest? Even if he only works for $1 a year he is still stewarding a “business-friendly”, (anti-labor), climate that favors his own business concerns and the concerns of other wealthy individuals like himself. Many of these guys put there personal empires “in trust” while in office, but we all know it will be waiting for them when they leave office, and in the mean time they are living off the accumulated millions that they exploited from the rest of us. I am personally tired of the working class having to take a back seat to every glory-hunting spoiled rich SOB who wants another “medal” on his chest. Trump is so full of himself he actually expects us to take him seriously. The only part I take seriously about him is his run for the president, which should be stopped in its tracks. Enough with the glorification of the upper class, they are only a bunch of blood-sucking leeches. It’s bad enough that we have the labor-hating press gearing up for a royal wedding. I thought we overthrew the royal pricks over two hundred years ago?

      I couldn't agree more. All this coverage of the royal wedding especially is an insult to american working people, not to mention the british. It reinforces archaic class distinctions (just think, the prince stooping down to elevate this poor girl), and in light of the ongoing austerity measures over there (and coming here) it's all the more callous. All these celebrity stories are just part of the virtual reality they'd have us live away from our growing squalor and discontent. I wish I were british so I could try to crash that thing.
