The fact that Osama's death led to no change should put a damper in everyone's celebration as it has to mine. The very unfortunate truth is that even though we've killed the man we set out to kill our troops will remain abroad in a land where they are unwelcome and unwanted.
They will continue to fight and die so we can sit at our computers and discuss the profound ramifications that a mans smut collection has on the war effort.

We should have never in the first place gotten mixed up in any foreign affairs. Ever since the end of WWII and the beginning of the Military Industrial Complex we have become an empire just as corrupt- if not more so- as those before us.
We station our troops on foreign soil and play with politics that do not directly concern our nation, Osama Bin Laden is a nasty ramification of our meddling in foreign affairs.

Bin laden was indeed a fuck, but the world is the same as it was before he was killed. To think that the death of one man has actually changed anything is delusional. His death doesn't even mean the end of this war, Obama confirmed this the day he announced Bin Laden's death.
It doesn't even mean a quicker withdraw from afghanistan, because we weren't at war with Bin Laden we are at war with a sect of Islamic fanatics. Pretty much we are at war with the the beliefs that drive them to such horrendous acts as 9/11.
This is an endless war and definitely not one we can win. We will only give these fanatics more cause to fight.

I too do not agree that Obama is as bad as Bush, but I also believe that he isn't what this country needed for substantial and lasting change. He hasn't done anything to deserve the kind recognition that so many simply hand over to him.

Humor is fine by me, but there are issues in the world that should not be taken lightly. The death of Bin Laden has profound ramifications on the morale of civilians and military alike. For all we know his death could keep us in the war another ten years. It would be foolish celebrating before we know that the war is actually over. What in the hell is there to be so happy about after all?
