Liberals and Progressives Fear Sarah Palin

Fox News’ Greta van Susteren asked Limbaugh whether Palin’s announced bus trip marks the beginning of her presidential campaign.
“I think this bus trip — it’s certainly designed to get people speculating that she’s in,” Limbaugh said. “The thing about Sarah Palin to me is that she has now learned to relish and to profit from all the attention — negative or positive — and she certainly knows negative attention.
“She has suffered slings and arrows — she’s had the media . . . exam — unlike any other Republican candidate,” he said. “And I think she has now come to grips with the fact that that’s part and parcel of the process. And I think one of the things that she enjoys is just rubbing it right back in their face. She knows that they are trying to intimidate her into silence.
Limbaugh said Palin is mastering the things she will have to master if she decides to run. Results of the most recent Gallup Poll that showed her only two points behind former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney “shocked me” — especially since she still hasn’t made a decision, he said. http://www.kiowacountysignal.com/opinions/x1293696267/Rush-Limbaugh-GOP-and-Dems...

I aint afraid of no spook. Shit clusters !!! ( from the 1980s movie Ghostbusters)
What do you get when you put 2 media hos on the same hog ? Cheap
marketing. Keep the sheeple voters' heads empty, and their gums flapping.
0s sell in the USA. Because like the Jackson Browne song, Running on Empty,
it's trendy now that the USA produces mostly people, with 1/3 of it's industrial
base outsourced by the Corporations supporting this media ho traveling reality
show. No, there's no business like show business, is there ?Something straaaaange in da neighborhood. Shit clusters !!!
Only in America can an entire family of Misdemeant convicted, trailer park trash
get elevated to phony celbrity status. The only thing that's missing from this hype
is Cato Caylin. But then that was soooooooo 5 minutes ago. More flakes than a
bad case of fandruff. ( And no, that's sarcasm, and not a typo. ) Spook much ? - 12 months ago

you need to analyse that ending much more carefully. He is in fact walking on stepping stones and NOT on the water. By the end of the film, the audience has become just as mindless and gullible as the other characters in the story who see Chance as some kind of messiah. So by the end they can't help but see a miracle that isn't there. A tragic masterpiece that is more relevant now than when it was made and a perfect comment on Obama's rise to power and the collective brain death of the American people.

Interesting that you see the character of Chance the gardener in terms of he being Obama. But maybe you are focusing on the end and the water walking or not. The real genius here is that in 1971 the author Jerzey Kosinski saw already back then what the media culture was doing. The movie to me represents how we wound up with Bush 2. But maybe I am wrong because the character that Peter Sellers created was innocent, like a child and was not the one creating an illusion, but rather the people in power who convinced themselves that Chance as Chauncey Gardener was mentally capable of running a country or maybe that in marketing terms, simple answers to complicated issues are shear genius. Chauncey was not a genius, but he was full of kindness and did not fear the things that he was told to fear on TV - maybe because he only watched cartoons ? Of course the Bush administration was consumed with fear after 911 and what innocence we had as a country disappeared

You are over demonising Bush. It's an obsession otherwise known as BDS ......Bush Derangement Syndrome. Chance was a moron, a retard, who just keeps repeating the same old platitudes about gardening. His wisdom is not wisdom at all..he is speaking literally about gardening and everyone around him is interpreting it as spiritual teaching. The film savages our propensity to follow gurus and leaders, no matter how vacuous they are.

I beg to differ with you crystalman, I never called Bush a moron......you are the one diagnosing anyone who supports our current president to be brain dead. Although, you do point out that the repetition by Chance of the same old platitudes about in the spring there will be new growth was seen as genius. Seems to me that one could replace that with such things as the constant repetition of the term WMD's. All in the Bush administration kept up that mantra and everyone around them interpreted that as reason to support their already made up minds about going to war with Iraq. And anyone who questioned their delusion was told that they were unpatriotic.

Liberals and Progressive aren't afraid of Sarah Palin. Most don't even care about her, she's a dingbat. She's not going to run for president, this bus tour thing is just a marketing gimmick to help her pay the mortgage on that new house she got in Scottsdale. I wish she would run, though. I hadn't laughed so hard during a presidential campaign until she got in the 2008 race.
Her poll numbers are atrocious. Here's a CBS News poll:
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-6113291-503544.html71% of Americans do not want her to run. There's really nothing to see here.

It seems pretty clear to me that the change the rethuglicans want to bring about is being rejected in a number of places. The governor in Wi. will likely lose his majority in the state senate and maybe his job come early next year. Rick Scott has a 29% approval rating. Kasich has a 32% approval rating and his union stripping bill will likely be overturned this Fall. Snyder in Michigan is at 30% approval and may be recalled himself. Corbett in Pa. at 39%. Lets not even talk about Maine. This is not the stuff of winning elections. These are key battleground states. The rethuglicans have pissed away those states by pissing off the people in those states. Given approval ratings this low, its obvious that even folks that voted for them don't want what's being offered.
The rallying cries to elect someone other than Obama may resonate with some people, but at least in these states, those cries fall on deaf ears for over 2/3 of the population. You can keep Kansas, Mississippi, South Carolina and the others. The next presidential race, as the last, will be won/lost in the "Big Ten" states and the rethuglicans have lot of ground to make up especially since most of these states tend Democratic anyway.
