Anonymous Takes Aim at Bernanke and Federal Reserve
"We cannot remain passive while our future is going up in flames. It is time for us to stand up for ourselves. It is time for you to stand up for yourself. We must restore the rule of law and fight back against the organized criminal class. We must now launch 'Operation Empire State Rebellion..."

From Lulz to Global Espionage: The Age of the Cracker
"For groups like Lulzsec, they are passing from the nuisance category into perceived enemies of the state. Once they start attacking government and military targets, they are likely to see a more hardened response from intelligence agencies as well as the likes of the FBI..."

As soon as you're caught, you're not anonymous... Why do people have such trouble with this? You get arrested under a name: you're not anonymous. Period. Plus who's to say these were the people that did it? They may have had minimal part and did not actually attack, but since they got traced, they got picked up and they hail a triumph! We caught anonymous, yay! Not. You caught some nimwads, and it is in no way a check against Anonymous.

Lulzsec are behind the recent attacks on Sony, Nintendo, PBS, and some others. Anonymous was behind a DDoS attack that gave way for some scumbags to go in and steal sony's stuff and put the blame on Anonymous.

I am a Sony customer. I can tell you first hand that the customer has been neglected, and once again Sony deserved it, and you my friend have Stockholm syndrome. You can thank Sony for your issues and credit card information breach.

You're holding the victim of the crime responsible rather than the perpetrator? Unbelievable. Yes, Sony should do the best they can to block hacking to make their producct as good as it can be. But they are still the victim of a crime.

It doesn't matter who is a customer. The hackers broke the law. Sony is the vitim of the crime.

And sony fucked it's consumers. Sony isn't a 'victim' it didn't cost them shit compared to how much they rip people off. When a company becomes corrupt and shits on it's customers, it's up to the people (anon/hackers/whatever) to respond and let the company know. After repeated attempts to make their concerns known, sony still refuses to address the issues. What then? Keep pleading? Fuck no, fight back, even if it's breaking the law, it's in honor of people's rights. The laws aren't meant to tell us who's bad or good, they're there to bring order and a system of punishment... As far as I'm concerned, since there's no evidence against any one person, it was never done by 'hackers'. If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it...

If these guys did do it, then it was for personal gain and in no way part of anonymous.

if they don't know who did it, it is still anonymous. Why are people so caught up in the anon name? The whole point is it is nameless... hence ANONYMOUS. Everyone and no one is anonymous... That's the point. So yes, This was part of Anonymous because no one fessed up or got caught.

I agree, wish everyone would stop thinking that every hacker is a hero, the majority are just tech-savy geeks with no lives who do it to get attention.

Oh really, and that statement suggests that you are on a first name basis with the majority of Anonymous members.
Right.
Guess what, they ARE Anonymous.
How many hackers do you know? Do they share their secrets with you?
I doubt it.
I'd be more inclined to believe the CIA hacked Sony, just to make people hate Anonymous.
