Ada County Sheriff's Deputies said it all began Saturday night when McGee started drinking at a golf course at about 10.
They said he later left the clubhouse on foot.
"I was awakened by the sound of my kids screaming that there was somebody out in the backyard," said Joe Carleton.
Carleton woke up around 3 a.m. Sunday to find a truck and 20-foot travel trailer belonging to his neighbors jack-knifed in his back driveway.
Apparently the driver, who deputies say was Senator John McGee, was trying to turn the rig around. Carleton's sons then said the driver ran around the house and up and down the gravel road. Carleton found him in the back seat.
"He said he was looking for the promised land," Carleton said. "He didn't know where he was at. He was dazed and confused. He was in another world."
**** You guys really read the whole article at the the link, this is just full of juicy tid bits."

He is apparently claiming medical reasons. Though the article does not list those reasons.

I once owned a bar & grill operation and one of my steady clients was a Republican state Senator. Benny would get stinking drunk, have wrecks with his car, the local cops would cover it up and have the car hauled to the body shop (who was another steady customer) where it was kept under wraps and repaired then picked up after hours by Benny. This would happen several times a year----------------

Ever try to find out much of anything about folks on ballots? Benny was a fun guy with quick wit and he was generous. He managed to keep his wrecks very quiet. He was active on the state level and pushed for the Republicans in Illinois.
Our nation elections are a total scam---from the lack of information provided by our corporate media to the con game of vote counting---------it is not recognized as valid by any international review board. Electoral college----bullshit------------ballots--bullshit----tabulation checks------bullshit---------voter suppression--------bullshit!Our representative form of governance is tightly controlled by corporations-very tightly!

Warren, I do not care to "top that" as you put it. I related my story about Benny because I had personal firsthand knowledge of Benny. You are repeating the words of someone else citing Kennedy's tragic accident. I speculate your words came from Rush Limbaugh or some other liar of the right. Perhaps someday you Republicans can learn the difference between reality and fiction------------it will help the nation should you.

I don't need to listen to a pundit to know what to think. I can cultivate my own opinion based on the facts.
However, that Kennedy drove a car off a bridge drunk, swam to shore, went home, while leaving a woman in the car to drown and didn't report the incident to anyone until the next day is not anyone's opinion. It's fact.

Have come to conclusion that not only do they not have ideas or visions, they don't have any real job skills so they are just con-men and women and it's the only job they can get because they don't have to do much more than tell voters what they want to hear to get it.
Holding office is not even a means to an agenda for many GOP pols, it's just a way to put money in their bank accounts. They don't even have ideology, just rhetoric.

frankly, I think half of them don't really expend energy on real bigotry. It is just showmanship for the voters. All they need is to turn out enough to get the job. They will say that they think enough people want to hear. Some of the freshmen have ideology, but some are just job seekers.

Understand that being a crackhead in Idaho isn't just frowned upon but results in being ostracized from society as a whole. If people can tell your high up here they will instantly do whatever they can to oppose you, no matter what you want. We really dont like crack heads and tweakers round these parts, being called one is a pretty serious insult.

Well I know my brother had 6 duis and he was looking at life in Prison, in MT. But it is true Montana is pretty lax about the drinking and driving, he was in Missoula to and they can be a bit harsher or so I have heard, before I came to Idaho I had never lived outside of Missoula county and I thought Idhao was harsh. Idaho does not mess around with drinking and driving, you get behind the wheel drunk and you just lost your license, guaranteed some jail time, and some pretty narly fines, the second dui, well lets just say I dont personally know anyone who has made it that far in Idaho, we are all scared of what will happen. That and why drink and drive, just start walking if a cop spots you and your friendly most of them will give you a free ride home to make sure you get there safe.
