A southern Indiana police officer who was pulling a Drug Abuse Resistance Education trailer has been arrested on a drunken driving charge.
Indiana State Police Sgt. Jerry Goodin says 38-year-old Seymour police Officer John C. Newcomb was arrested Wednesday night after the truck he was driving sideswiped a parked car and hit a tree in Salem, where he lives.
Police say Newcomb had a blood alcohol content of 0.14 percent. Indiana's legal limit is 0.08 percent.
