    • Great Kenny! I agree we need to get behind our presidents job plan. I see several good things he's offering. I like the tax breaks for small business, infrastructure. etc. We need to stay on congress to pass it. I know the teaparty house won't help. He is doing the right thing by taking it to the people.

I also enjoyed Wyley. If earth is an experiment, were failing the test and need change. As always The Great Embaldo , MDBARD, and the song by JD Fontanote were great.

The shows keep getting better. Thank Ziggy.

There is no way to deny climate change, it always changes and always has. When the last ice age ended, that was caused by some extreme global warming, and sea levels rose by over 140 feet, very rapidly! We had nothing to do with causing the end of or the start of the last ice age or any of them. The climate certainly changes, and we can certainly make conditions terrible here on earth with pollution. That being said, I may be thought of as being ignorant for saying this but, I don't believe that humanity has anything to do with climate change! Regardless of the latest "intelligence" from the self-proclaimed expert Al Gore, I think I'll believe the facts, not his latest attempts to make more millions as he scoots around in his private jet spewing more greenhouse gas and hot air!

That appears to be merely a cartoon with name calling! It does prove a point ; I'm fully aware that those who are not members of the church are looked down upon by those who are, it's always been that way with religion! I'm still wondering how the great Ice Ages ended without the assistance of hydrocarbon footprints and bovine flatulence :)

And as a person who honestly believes I've got this one time around, fairness makes the most economic sense for US all as well. Why should we have massive "beyond the dreams of avarice" rich people while others of US are homeless and hungry on the street? That to me is the true example of "class warfare"!

You'll get agreement from me on that point but, when the money tree has been picked clean where will economic growth come from in the future? My wife grew up in Latvia under the boot of the USSR, they had nothing, and no opportunity, everyone was equal, equally indigent.

And, at the very same time we here in America were doing OK because we had a middle class and they had most of the money. Today most of the money is in the hands of 2% and we have more people going hungry in this country than in the last 10 years. If we don't return to fair taxation, even we cannot exist this way forever. If I have learned anything in my life, it is that is best to be fair and "trust, but verify". I would rather first look upon you as a friend and let our relationship determine how I "see" you. In the same way, I would rather we all paid a fair share of the costs of this country and got away from the name calling. We all know (I sincerely hope) in our heart of hearts that this country is better off when all pay for the privilege of living here, in "the home of the brave and the land of the free".

    • DanCastro:

Yes most certainly. Since I am in the middle class, and I have a young daughter who has just started a family, I am very concerned about the future of this great nation. The middle class is being reduced by economic conditions, and some of the rich are getting richer. No sane person would refuse to see that and realize that something has to be done, NOW! The issue is; what? The cause for all the debates, passion, and childish name calling is two opposed opinions. We need to figure out a way to compromise and apply logic and accept the facts and figure out what to do. Both sides have their heels dug in, and when that happens in a tug of war game, nothing happens. Both sides need to be patriots and stop being partisans.

I think that you are absolutely right, we need to figure out "the way out". For me it is simplified by the fact that Clinton's formula for building a record surplus is still available to US. The choice seems to be made even more clear by the fact that the right has propose nothing more than "more of the same" and more, with a vengeance. As to your second point, I don't look for any re approach of the political parties until and unless "we, the people" make our voices heard in their home offices until they act just to shut US up!

    • DanCastro:

Most certainly, when President Clinton, who I would take back in a hot second (!), became fiscally conservative, we had quite a few years of healthy growth again. (that sloagan, "It's the economy stupid", should make a come back in a big way!) There's nothing wrong with high wage earners paying a little bit more, as Biden said, having "skin in the game". Taking that a step farther, nearly half of Americans pay no federal income taxes at all, and take welfare payments in the form of "tax credits" each year. I think to insure that everyone pays their "fair share", all Americans who are employed should have a certain amount of skin in the game, so everyone feels the hit from income taxation, and everyone would be vested in the economy, but no one should be asked to have a much greater amount of skin in the game than everyone else simply because they are more fortunate than the rest of us. If we are going to have an all for one and one for all attitude again, no American should be vilified for being rich, or poor. This reminds me of an old Russian story; two old men are walking down the street, one of them has a donkey, the one without the donkey finds a genie bottle and is granted one wish, the old man wishes for his friend's donkey to die! When I hear class warfare, I think of that story, because taxing the rich more does nothing to make my life any better or anyone elses! It does not even make me feel better about myself or my situation to know that someone else will be forced to pay a much higher tax rate than me.

Lovely little story, I just find one flaw. It was the rich who stole the money they now claim is theirs. How did we get to the point where the banks needed bailing? How is it that 2% have almost all the wealth? This did not happen overnight or because the rich innocently invested and their coupons matured! I'm silly and a little dumb, but I am not as stupid and willing to keep "taking it" as the Donkey you made the hero of your story! ;-)

    • DanCastro:

Perhaps I need to qualify what I mean by "rich"! I'm not talking about the greedy pigs at AIG, or any of the other coporations that got bailed out with our money, or the bail out of GM merely to save the UAW and thereby, the union dues going to the DNC, or the Jeffrey Immelts of the world who make a boat load from GE and like a corporate raider send the jobs to China, or all the corporations that got the back door deals like Solyndra, who blew half a billion of our money in one year! I wonder what the salary of Solyndra's CEO was last year, I wonder how much he gave back to Obama for that deal!! Solyndra is just the tip of the iceburg, more will float belly up, and more of our money will have gone into the pockets of pigs like them. Stay tuned for more on that whole scam. I don't care if a Right winger or a Marxist pulls it, crony capitalism with tax dollars should be a capital offense.

When I say "rich", I mean in a classical sense, the hard working people who built themselves up from the proletariat class and created business operations that provided goods and services, and jobs for the proletariat class and improved the standard of living for not only their employees, but through the multiplier effect, the communities where their businesses operate as well. The fellow Americans who do things the right way, pay their taxes and hire us in the proletariat. The "American dream". Call me naive, but I don't want to paint those people with the same broad and dirty brush that the greedy dirt bags get painted with. When we do, it is those people who suffer, and us in the proletariat when we lose our jobs, not the pigs. We can't all work for the government, and I've never been given a job by a proletariat!

    • dcrog:

Well, I'm more into "common speak" and regard rich as o/$250k. True there are those who have money who still have morals and consider the good of the country more important than amassing more money, but that doesn't really get US anywhere does it? The FACT is that 2% of the rich have most of the money in the country and that is not good. Fair taxation and a simplified tax code are a good beginning.

Sorry, not quite. As a practical matter spending the time to figure out who's been "good" and whose been "bad" is not my issue. For me, it's about everybody paying a fair share so we can be getting some cash to buy some jobs so people can start spending and we get this demand driven economy on the road again! ;-)

    • Hey Kenny, great show. Your tariff idea in your editorial makes sense and yes, that's how this nation was initially funded, before the tax rates were imposed! Driving up the cost of imported goods, particularly from China, would help US companies compete and increase employment here. Let's really get things going and along with the tariff idea, how about a flat tax rate for everyone, doing away with the failed Marxist "feel-good" class warfare strategy, and end the corporate income tax? Let's get those trillions stashed away in foreign accounts back in the US and put to work by giving a tax amnesty on that cash if it's invested in job growth. Keeping it off shore does nothing for the US economy. Corporations don't pay taxes, their customers do, and/or their employess either get laid off or get paid less. None of us have ever had a private sector job working for a poor man or woman! Right now, demand that the feds impose guidelines on the compensation packages that CEOs are paid, including GE's CEO. What's up with GE paying no federal income taxes, but all the others have to? That's not a "fair share" deal, particularly since GE is sending so many of our jobs to China! Cut federal spending and with the savings and increased revenue from bringing our tax structure into reality, fully fund SS and Medicare. Let's get the feds out of everyone's pockets, restaurants and gas tanks and focused on what really matters and things would turn around. I'm just sayin'.

    • Kenny, thanks for letting me comment and "sing " a bit. It's been a while. And I hope people understand it took some courage for me to come out of my comfort zone ;-) Good comments and imput today. Love the blues song and Wylie Wombat so true. It is going to take a complete paradigm shift in thinking to preserve this planet for the future-but it is worth it. And I don't know what's happening to this country either Kenny when people in an audience call for the death of someone real or imaginary. I think to myself that these people must be plants because I also think most people are not like that. Remember this is politics. And I think something's coming that is going to change this country soon... people are starting to speak up and it's good to see. I hope it gains momentum! Remember, no Koch or tea in Congress! Oh, and Lucy was great in her debut. ;-)

I think it's funny how people will postulate where homo sapiens could have come from some other planet or perhaps some "experiment" made by the son of a god from a science kit he received as a birthday present! Or any other "far out" suppositions that others can think up especailly if they allow their imaginations to run wild!

We, human beings are from this planet. Evolution dictates this. By the mapping of gene sequencing, correlations are found to tie us with apes, since human DNA is approximately 98.4% identical to that of chimpanzees when comparing single nucleotide polymorphisms. From apes to small mammalians. From mammalians to possibly mud skippers that crawled out of the sea and moved about on land.

When those that say God created Man, I must ask them, when did He create Neanderthal, since there was breeding between the two species. Eastern Europeans carry the largest percentage of Neanderthal lineage since up to 4% of their DNA and chromosomal markers have been sequenced so far. Some Being would have had to create Neanderthals first, wait nearly two hundred thousand years, then create modern man, making sure they overlapped so they could mate. Allow Neanderthals to die off and be left with us. Not to mention that this Being created other hominids that came and went leaving branches of the various humanoid tree vacant. Did some of His experiments go awry, thereby not providing them the opportunity to continue on only to become a deadend road? Chimpanzees are more closely related to us than gorillas, as we are more closely related to some branches humanoids than others.

What is fascinating is how, when we are fetuses we have within our embryos tails, gills and other "fishy" details. Which shows we're related to the little fishies of the sea, too! The genetics "trail" does not lie. We are related to trees by genetics through DNA also. It appears everything is related one way or another on this earth.

So those aliens would had to have to made their trip here a very long time ago to get the ball rolling!

      Go figure!

Alien interference has been a favorite theory of mine for a long time.... I do think they are watching either way though, some are also interfering for both good and ill....... The Mythological gods and goddesses as well as the thousands of "sons and daughters of gods" seem to be a genetic experiment to me as well as an attempt to guide us to a better or worse way. In every Myth or Legend there is a grain of truth what that truth is will not be reveled until the world comes together under the Banner of Love and the ruling class dismantles the Banner of Hate....wait they'll never do that....guess we'll have to do it for them.
