Iran Begins Large-Scale Production Of New Cruise Missile

Iran says it's started large-scale production of a domestically-developed cruise missile designed for sea-based targets and capable of destroying warships.

Defense Minister Gen. Ahmad Vahidi said an unspecified number of samples of "Ghader," or "Capable" as the missile is called in Farsi, were delivered to the Revolutionary Guard's navy, assigned to protect Iran's sea borders. His remarks were reported by state TV on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the French envoy to the UN warned Iran on that it risks a military strike if it continues to develop its nuclear program. Ambassador Gerard Araud said in New York that "If we don't succeed today to reach a negotiation with the Iranians, there is a strong risk of military action," AFP reported.

The strike, he said, "would be a very complicated operation. It would have disastrous consequences in the region… all the Arab countries are extremely worried about what is happening."

    • it would be right in line with the iranian strategy in general, but being as the source is haaretz it cant be true.unless haaretz finaly decided to stop being israeli fox news for the left?

    • Cruise missiles are not a justification for the kind of ridiculous war-mongering we've been hearing from politicians about Iran, and it makes their ulterior motives transparent.

      Been there, done that to a significant extent as well. They've been trying to start a war with Iran for more than 5 years now and they know they can't do it.

    • One good war... Deserves, an end actually. You can't blame them at all, probably 90% of all people on the planet (including many Americans) are fearful of our imperialistic government....

      How many foreign bases? Over 400 something like that? We attack whomever unilaterally, just practically deemed Pakistan an enemy after countless drone strikes that's killed many civilians... (that didn't get us deemed enemies of Pakistan...?)

      Just sold Israel bunker busters, and it's believed the only potential targets for them as of yet are in Iran...

      So Iran, a country that has been refused nuclear power (something most of the rest of the world has been irresponsible with for some time.), been deemed enemy by both Israel and the U.S., seeks to arm itself in a futile attempt to be able to defend itself from dictators in the forms of other nations.......

      Oh no they're horrible, we've got to invade tonight and ensure the ENTIRE Arab world hates our fucking guts and further ensure our children never see an end to the hatred directed at us.....

      One day we're going to intimidate a nation that is; so unstable, or miserable, or just flat out defiant... They are likely to nuke the shit out of us, just because to them that will be a far better idea than more colonization and westernization...
