Republicans Praise Nixon Administration For Allowing Qaddafi To Rule Libya So He Could One Day Be Overthrown

“In 1969, Qaddafi staged a coup, abolished the monarchy, kicked out American forces, and demanded U.S. oil companies share more revenue or else face expulsion—had Nixon and his Republican appointees done anything at all to stop Qaddafi during this time, Libya wouldn’t be celebrating his downfall today, in 2011,” explained Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-SC), calling the Libyan uprising a clear feather in the GOP’s cap.
“So once again, the Libyan people have only the Republican Party to thank, because without our brilliant foresight, there would have been no Qaddafi dictatorship, and without a Qaddafi dictatorship, there would never have been a reason for the uprising. Understand? Again, this is our accomplishment, and ours alone.”
Before thanking reporters for their time, Graham quickly added that Barack Obama had failed on every level and will always fail on every level.

Investigate 53 Gadhafi Loyalist Slayings At The Time Of His Death, HRW says
SIRTE, Libya, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- On-scene evidence in the Libyan city of Sirte suggests more than 50 supporters of slain leader Moammar Gadhafi were summarily executed, a rights group said.
Gadhafi died last week of bullet wounds to the head and chest after he was captured by forces loyal to the interim government. Human Rights Watch said it viewed the bodies of 53 people in Sirte last week. The bodies, and the surrounding scene, suggest most of them were executed on site.
Peter Bouckaert, emergency director for Human Rights Watch, said many of the bodies had their hands bound behind their backs.
"This requires the immediate attention of the Libyan authorities to investigate what happened and hold accountable those responsible," he said in a statement.
His group had also expressed concern over Gadhafi's death. The narrative surrounding his capture and death has led to speculation he was executed.
The interim government, after announcing the country's liberation during the weekend, said it would conduct an investigation into Gadhafi's death, the BBC reports.
Interim leader Mustafa Abdul Jalil seemed to point the finger at Gadhafi loyalists rather than the rebel forces known to have captured him from a drainage ditch in Sirte.
"Those who wanted him killed were those who were loyal to him or had played a role under him," he was quoted as saying. "His death was in their benefit."

What are; reasons I'm not a republican, or any political affiliation for that matter, I mean anarchism isn't a political party for a reason...(though I sometimes flirt with everything from libertarianism to socialism)...
Alex: Can you be more specific...
Well it seems both parties do some stupid, deceptive, distractive annoying shit. Even if republicans are somehow responsible, it's nothing to be proud of, not the coup and subsequent murder of a man honestly almost nobody knows about without the filter of media propaganda...
So for the republicans to try to steal some kind of fascist murderous thunder, for democrats to distract from more important issues with typical partisan bullshit issues, by spreading this nonsense.... They both suck, article is a complete waste of time from all angles...
Alex: you're correct, your board...
I'll take un-noteworthy notables for a 1,000......
(oh... The Onion, well they were about to try anyway.....)

If he said this it is just a dumb statement kinda like Obama taking credit for troop leaving Iraq at the end of this year.
I will take issue with the "allowing Qaddafi to rule Libya" statement. Actually Qaddafi did the coup and kicked out U.S. troops then forced American oil companies to shore more of their revenue from Libyan oil with that country or also be thrown out. I wonder what the reaction would have been had Nixon used the military to prevent this from occurring.
This came from "The Onion". I would like to see a more reliable link if anyone has it. - 7 months ago

Yeah I read it. That's why I prefaced my first sentence with the word "If" and asked for a link. That said, knowing the left wing nut mindset that no chance to abuse anyone not of their view should be passed by, I could not resist the opportunity to make a mockery of the post with the truth.
Actually I have a really good sense of humor. I must admit that it is difficult to understand the insults, violence and hate that passes for humor in the liberal world. Oh, tell Babe that moron is not spelled "marooon". Hey Babe, don't you look like a ******* moron now. - 7 months ago
