Former staffer: Ron Paul ‘wishes the Israeli state did not exist’

Former Ron Paul campaign and Congressional staffer Eric Dondero issued a statement to Right Wing News today denying that his former boss is racist, homophobic or anti-Semitic as part of a larger attack on what Dondero terms Paul’s “isolationism” and his position on the war in Afghanistan and the state of Israel.

Though Dondero stresses that Paul isn’t an anti-Semite, referring to everything from his own Jewish ancestry to Paul’s political courtship of “a few Jews” in Paul’s Congressional district as evidence, Dondero does state unequivocally that Paul is opposed to the existence of the state of Israel.

He is however, most certainly Anti-Israel, and Anti-Israeli in general. He wishes the Israeli state did not exist at all. He expressed this to me numerous times in our private conversations. His view is that Israel is more trouble than it is worth, specifically to the America taxpayer. He sides with the Palestinians, and supports their calls for the abolishment of the Jewish state, and the return of Israel, all of it, to the Arabs.

But despite Dondero’s insistence that Paul is not anti-Semitic, he confirms a local paper’s account of a opponent’s press conference to discuss Paul’s supposed anti-Semitism, in which Dondero was pressed to attend “dressed in a Jewish yarlmuke [sic], and other Jewish adornments.” And, perhaps most problematically, Dondero recounts conversations in which Paul asserted that “the United States had [no] business getting involved in fighting Hitler in WWI”‘ because “‘saving the Jews’ was absolutely none of our business.”

    • oh please, it is just as retarded from this side of the aisle as it is from the other side of the asile.it seems more about people desperate to focus attention on jews and israel more than anything else, using paul as the means to that end.

he isnt an antisemite, but a retarded libertarian.they dont like anything, not just one thing

    • What a terrible article, not to mentioned very biased and unfactual. Has the writer ever listened to Ron Paul? if so, they would know this is NOT TRUE, what Mr. Paul is against, is Israel's influence in our foreign policy! He believes Israel has a right to exist as much as Palestine does which makes him in some eyes, "anti-israel", what a bunch of bs this article is!

    • Politicians are full of shit, so too are former staffers. I wouldn't put much stock in what some angry ex-employee says and I wouldn't put much stock in what his former employer says either.

Peter Garret, former singer of Midnight Oil, protested against mining uranium, but once elected to the Australian Labor Party he stated his support for the resumption of mining uranium. See how ones values can be completely abandoned to tow the party line. Any principles are quickly gone with enough persuasion, it's simple social dynamics. Now Olympic Dam uranium mine is set to become the largest in the world, with Australia to commence uranium exports to India, a country who's government refuses to join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Far too many of us are susceptible to the influence of our peers. The urge to conform to a group overrides simple logic and even compassion. Only a small minority of people will stand against the group mentality that dominates human interaction. You can subvert your own belief system and morals using a few psychological tricks. I tried this experiment on myself and reduced my principles and values to that of a cowardly piece of shit within a very short time. Fortunately I prepared a number of triggers to reactivate the parts of my brain that I shut down. I found the whole process a rather traumatic experience, but quite enlightening. The processes of reawakening my moral compass was quite exhilarating and hopefully reinforced my values so that they are not so easily lead astray by the constant bombardment of propaganda we face on a daily basis. Reverse PsyOps, far better than sleep walking or blind conformity. The ease of planting suggestions and ideas into the minds of others is a frighteningly easy task to accomplish. Remember how I told you I was going to do this, remember they KEY words I planted in your head.

    • Wow! RP damn well knows we never fought Hitler in WWI. We fought him in WWII in response to him declaring war on us and repeatedly sinking our supply ships headed to Britain. The concentration camps weren't discovered until the very end of the war.Nobody knew.

It's morally wrong to support a country that stole it's land from the weak, is engaged in ethnic cleansing and is the curator of the worlds largest prison....the Palestinian territory. But we do, originally because of fables and mythologies.

No foreign aid to anyone including the enemies of Israel like Saudi Arabia, Egypt Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan etc. which we give far more $ to is not anti-Semitic, it's a moral issue.

We either have a civilian taxpayer-funded government military, or else we have a corporate for-profit industrial military.
      There is no third way.

Ironically, there is actually a robust debate in Israel on the very topics that Ron Paul champions. Ron Paul is not anti-Israel. Hell, he supported the Osirak strike when Reagan didn't. He is pro-America and pro-constitution. Terms like "anti-semite" and "anti-Israel" are inherently fallacious and are becoming pathetically predictable in their usage. Ron Paul threatens too many illegitimate foreign and special interests on the Left and Right. That's what is meant by the term "anti-israel".

These assertions are delusional at best. Do your research people it's not that hard.

    • Also lets cut to the chase, shall we? The true reason why the US blindly follows Israel into the abyss of political terrorist empire is to protect the nukes there. One nuke launched by Israel would ignite WWIII and limited nuclear strikes would ensue. Russia and China would unite against the US, UK and EU, over what? OIL!!!! and WATER!!!!

This is the game of risk with real human beings lives at stake. The innocents of the world being trampled to satisfy the bloodthirsty lust for power.

"those nukes can also be launched against or at us"
      That's not actually technically true.
There is no country in the Near East, Middle East or West Asia with the technological capability to reach North America with any of their long-range weapons.
Israel, like Iran. poses a regional security threat only.

"Why the Hell should we care"
Because very nearly every single one of the reactionary regressive neoconservative teabagging party "Republican" candidates for Commander in Chief of the most powerful armed military fighting force this world have ever known have expressed their desire to invade a nuclearly-armed Iran, and/or to bomb a nuclear iran along with a nuclearly-armed israel.
And then we're off to the races: World War III; ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. Nxt stop: mutually assured destruction (an apt acronym is ever there was one) and a thousand years of inhospitable uninhabitable thermonuclear winter.
THAT, in so many words, is why we should care.

I'm not saying that they have nuclear weapons now.
What i'm saying is that by the time that we have the potential to elect our next "Republican" President in January 2017, Iran WILL have nuclear weapon.
There is a high probability that there will be a nuclearly armed iran by the time President Obama begins his second term in January of 2013.

The Faux "News" channel Network is the one pushing for the invasion of iran.
It is Faux "News" are the ones who are largely responsible for introducing the reactionary regressive neoconservative Teabagging Party "Republican GOP candidates for the Presidency (several of which also just so happen to be "former" employees of the Murdoch multimedia empire) to the militant reactionary ideology of expending American lives in pursuit of the "we got ours, but you can't have yours" foreign policy toward Iran's nuclear weapons program.
The fact that Iran will have a nuclear weapon well within the next decade or less is accepted by the experts in the field of international relations, given the fact that there is very little that any other country can conceivably do to stop them.
And many of the foreign policy experts doubt whether it would be justifiable TO stop Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, especially in light of the threat of attack that they now face from a nuclearly-armed and militantly, even violently, anti-muslim and anti-arab American-backed Israeli theocracy.

It's as obvious as the nose on our faces, they are terrified of Ron Paul. Because he might actually rain on their corruption parade.

If austerity in the US is inevitable, preferably it will be austere for those who screwed up the world's economies in the first place...the billionaire gamblers on Wall Street. Ron Paul would take these MF'rs on.

The same reason Buckley ran many of these WingNutz out in the 60s, they are haters.

Ask the Republic Syndicate member who wrote this.

      "The Palinization of the GOP

Republicans aren’t really stupid, of course, and Begala acknowledges this. But, as he also pointed out, the conservative brain trust once led by William F. Buckley has been supplanted by talk radio hosts who love to quote Buckley (and boast of his friendship) but who do not share the man’s pedigree or his nimble mind. Moreover, where Buckley tried to rid the GOP of fringe elements, notably the John Birch Society, today’s conservatives have let them back in. The 2010 Conservative Political Action Conference was co-sponsored by the Birchers."

"Ron Paul would take...the billionaire gamblers on Wall Street"
      WRONG
Ron Paul is a Teabagging Party "Republican"
The Teabagging Party, like its multimedia mouthpiece the Faux "News" Channel Network, is wholly owned and operated by corporate industrial multi-billionaires (not all of them American, i might add)
So Ron Paul opposing the interests of Billionaires would be wroking against his own best interests.
Which is probably why he opposes such things as Environmental Protection and Occupational Health and Safety regulations, which, in spite of saving tens of millions of lives daily, Industrial corporations complain decrease their unprecedented multi-billion-dollar profits.
If Ron Paul had any interest in opposing multi-billionaire for-profit corporate industries, then he would not be pledging to deregulate them, just as the unelected Dick Cheney Regime did for nearly a decade.

    • I think the Jewish people, like the Kurdish people btw, deserved, and do deserve a homeland. If you look deeply into the history of just how Israel was created (there was a excellent documentary on it a number of years ago on PBS) there were some very massive, serious mistakes in how this all was done, that has been haunting the world to this day. Isreal exists and is maintained so largely by the us's involvement it's shameful that the us doesn't use that power to push -hard- for a solution to be finally implemented to this horrible on-going situation between the Israeli's and Palestinians. As far as Ron Paul goes, he doesn't interest me, he's too far in the crazy-lands. He's only of interest at all as far as will, he or won't he try running as a 3rd party candidate when he finally admits to himself that the wrong-wingers won't have him as their candidate. I have no idea if he actually said any of these things attributed to him, or if it's just more of the same type of dirty tricks I expect from that p.o.s shat up by hell itself namely Karl Rove.

And let's keep giving Israel $30 billion dollars per year while the IDF murders whomever they want whenever they want.

Meanwhile, Ron Paul supports Israel, probably just like he supports Canada but that the US government should not be involved with them.
