Yes, I am an Angry Man!

kennymotown
Recently I was told by a commentator, "I see your still an Angry Man". Wow, brilliant! I think he finally realized my avatar was chosen for that exact reason! For years it seems this commentator and I had a few epic battles of words, hell he even stayed away from Current because of the silly right left arguments he grew to hate. I can't speak for the guy and his point of view, but I can speak for myself!

Hell Yah, I'm an Angry Man! It's way too late to change into something I am not! My Country has been hijacked, society is falling apart at the seams, the poor are getting poorer, and we are still being taken for ride to oblivion! At 60 almost in April, I still try and fight the good fight against willful ignorance, and the powers that we have no control over.

I do as I have done all my life, and that is to reflect as too why I am who I am! My heart constantly aches for my fellow man, those of you who know what I try to convey, and those not old enough to know better. Hell there is even a group of people who are old enough to know better but for some reason have a heart of stone!

Perhaps as the commentator said my persona and anger will effect my health eventually, and more than likely he is correct! But thats fine I say, cause not to stand for those who can not, is my destiny! I think my salvation is my sense of humor, it keeps me alive! I can still even laugh at myself and others, but my serious side of me fuels my spirit as well.

What fun would it be to be a drone or a robot? Not much is my answer, I've lost interest a long time ago in playing the game most of us find ourselves playing. The gathering of material things is a soulless pursuit, but many are trapped in that lifestyle. I even speak for them at my own risk, I guess I somehow think I'm making a difference at times. I have always tried to cheer folks up in my daily life, at work, at play, and when the times get tough as life often gets!

I've known some incredible times through the years, and my goals at times seem to mirror Don Quixote's futile attempts wielding a sword at an enemy not seen by others. "So be it". I'm very excited to put together, with the assistance of a very dear friend, the Kennymotown Show Season 2. Perhaps even a joke or two will play out, and of course the sword wielding will occur!

Freeeeeedom!

    • His point about how the biggest capitalist country is in debt to the biggest communist country is something to think about. And a 350 credit score? Damn! According to Mr. Munk, we aren't capitalist pigs anymore, we are capitalist fuck ups and deadbeats.

Yes! Capitalism is a good system but not to where they've taken it. They've got us in an abusive relationship and we need to file a restraining order on their greedy asses.

    • Great post Kenny. Certainly a lot of teeth gnashing going on in response. That in itself is amusing, but I hope it sparks people to listen.

"Perhaps even a joke or two will play out, and of course the sword wielding will occur!"

I should hope so ! I've a sword or two myself.

    • Stay the course and speak your mind. There are enough sheep in this world. Once we all realize what is important, and the constant acquisition of more stuff is not, the rest falls into place.
Your accomplishments and contributions are sometimes staggering. You seem to have an endless energy for producing material and I am in awe at the sheer volume of it. You do set an example for us all. As far as the negativity thing is concerned, the powers-that-be, (or their supporters), will always say that when they are disagreed with, screw 'em all.

kenny--this was said to you by someone else.
"However, I fail to see anything other than an angry man unable to accept the way the world is--and to find some sort of real happiness in how good each and every one of us has it."

Just how many of us have it so damn good? I suppose that the plates of shit the 1%
leave us to eat is something we should be thankful for. The blanket statement of how "good" we all have it and how we all sit on our asses doing nothing to improve our lot in life, (which is pretty contradictory on its face to begin with), is quite an omnipotent piece of knowledge this person has. A blanket statement not worth directly addressing for its total cluelessness of our reality.

They expect us to thank them for the opportunity of giving up everything we have, including, ultimately, our lives. I just want to know when the Soylent Green factories will go up. I'm sure it will be announced as another victory for American capitalism and an example of a rebounding economy, (and a celebration of "green" recycling). Maybe it can be looked on as a needed sacrifice to the young who cannot be bothered with supporting 80 million old baby boomers. What we can do for our country! Do you think the right-wing radicals would be happy with that, or do we have to die in public view, as an example to those who follow, (that this is what happens to entitlement-lovers)?

    • Another current circle jerk... Yes, discussing real issues is a No No. But getting angry and calling people names, dismissing them with out actual consideration of their words, is far more effective. Right?

The fact that this is number one on current, and that you had to post a story about how someone called you angry... Really shows just how infantile you can be.

Freedom, my ass. Attention is more like it.

why its number one right now is because 1.a lot of news comes through and passes bye regardless so why the hell not. 2. because Kenny's first paragraph is step 1. to getting currents commentator communities CREDIBILITY BACK. current as a community has lost its credibility because comments like yours

      but seriously....
if someone changed there name to bruceleefan123. its harder to think of them as some douchbag middle school kid wit ha alcoholic republican dad.. or maybe a democratic dad,who knows ( you know how rebellious kids are ahahahah)

      but seriously

you cant get rid of people like that.. its a flaw in the message board anonymity.
making it harder for people to come together as a singular power on-line might seem like a draconian goal but that what its for.

that or hes a overzealous current fan whos tired of the lack of physical action like "occupy"
and constantly seeing efforts pushed aside in well.. a draconian way.

    • I'm sorry your so angry Kenny, but I see why. Our future has been sold down the river. I am lucky to have a good job, at least for now. I'm saving for the future but I know my money will be almost worthless in 20 years. Social security is supposed to run dry the same year I turn 65. Isn't that great? So the older I get, the angrier I am as well. The way I see it, I'll probably be killed in a civil war or die of cancer from radiation anyway, so we should all be very angry. I don't blame you at all.

That is precisely the reason that we should have gone along with George W. Bush's proposal to privatize "social security."

Let me put it this way: Imagine you just turned 30 with a reasonably good job. If you had the choice of putting your (and your employer's contribution) into government SS or a savings plan of your choice (money market, stocks, even government bonds), which would you take?

Yes, it will be worse for the next two years. It will be worse with B. Hussein Obama at the helm for the rest of this year, of course.

Then, when Republicans get the executive and Senate in 54 weeks, they will scupper ObambiCare, cut spending, reduce welfare and rouse the people, but - just as with the great Ronald Reagan - it will take at least a year to begin to see the results of sensible, non-Leftist government.

So, take heart. Only about two more years.

I did not think you would be able to tell me how they "took" your money, of course. It is obvious you have been duped and you are just a mindless parrot who has not thought through his pronouncements that simply make him feel better. I suppose it helps advert the onus of one's own failures to the outside, to others, to some abstract entity, rather than look at one's own actions.

It should be obvious from the post who "You People" are.

"You People" are the ones who promote hatred of capitalism but cannot support your ideology of wealth confiscation.

"You People" refuse to look at yourselves but instead blame society, culture and the "evil rich" for your own failings.

"You People" spout talking points from Rachel MadCow and MSNBC and Leftist comedians and cannot even explain them when asked.

"You People" only name-call when challenged on anything you say.

And "You People" do exactly what you did in the post to me: Make charges of racism, lack of compassion, or whatever else you can dream up, only to advert the topic to something else because you can never do anything but parrot what you are told.

One thing is certain about "You People": You may not know HOW to think, but you know what you are SUPPOSED to think!

Liberals cannot accept that the American people can be inspired by a restoration of our Founding principles, and Ronald Reagan did just that. It is antithesis of their credo of the formation and management of a new society. They are hostile to the idea of the embodiment of our Founders and deem it to be antiquated and unenlightened. But the people voted and gave Ronald Reagan one of the greatest electoral victories in our history, and he remains one of the most popular presidents in our entire history.

Liberals will never forgive Ronald Reagan for elevating William Rehnquist to the highest position in the Supreme Court and putting Antonin Scalia there, followed by his vice president, George H. W. Bush, when he was president, nominating Clarence Thomas.

From the point of view of the New Left and today’s Liberals, one of Ronald Reagan’s greatest sins was uniting Conservatives’ he moved Conservatism from the fringes to the mainstream. As Alfred Regnery wrote in Upstream: The Ascendance of American Conservatism:

“Reagan took the [conservative] movement’s ideas, communicated them to the American people in understandable terms, and applied them to practical politics. His political march moved the conservative cause from the fringes to the mainstream… He pulled the anti-Communists, libertarians, economic conservatives, traditionalists, the Christian right, and even neoconservatives into a powerful coalition.”

Ronald Reagan welcomed all and was the person who took action. Among Conservatives, there are, and have been, free-market economists, traditionalists, social conservatives, anti-communists, isolationists, libertarians and the religious right. Ronald Reagan made a home for them and encouraged all to find common ground. Ronald Reagan EMBODIED America.

Ronald Reagan possessed a clear vision. He understood something in the world anathema to our Founding Principles – Communism - and called it what is was without reservation: EVIL. He saw similar forces at home and could bring America’s attention to it without fomenting hate. After Ronald Reagan welcomed all Americans under his broad umbrella and exposed the Left for what it was, many deserted that camp and united under Reagan.

The most notable of these were the “Neoconservatives.” Jeane Kirkpatrick, for instance, was one of the Left who came to the Reagan Conservative camp and became Ambassador to the United Nations. Something Kirkpatrick said clearly demonstrated how far these people had come from the New Leftist mentality that had constantly resulted in the disparaging, attacking and vilifying of America: “Americans need to face the truth about themselves, no matter how pleasant it is."

It is important to direct your anger in the right direction - At those who would empower government. It seems that many who complain about the putative "rich" and postulate that they are controlling us, are misinformed.

It is collusion with government that is the source of the problem. Too much lobbying. Do you know that the unions, for example, are the top 14 of the 16 BIGGEST contributors to political campaigns? And that UNION payments in political campaigns put receiving politicians in their pockets? Why are there no complaints in that direction, for example?

But what I see is certain coteries demanding MORE government control and power when we should be demanding less. These claques clamoring for MORE spending when we need to cut back everything. These energumen insisting on MORE government management and control of the economy when to do so will eviscerate the private sector.

It is well established that many anti-capitalists are that way because of personal failures. They do not want to recognize this in themselves, so they look outward.

This is not debateable; it is recognizable human nature, and all of us do it at one time or another. It can happen in losing a game (he cheated), in being passed over in work (the boss plays favorites), losing in love (she was a #$@ anyway or I was going to dump her), or a poor grade (teacher isn't fair).

The anti-capitalists provide the perfect scapegoat: Corporations. They give the message, "Hey, it is not your fault, it is the corporations or the rich!" Perfect excuse for LOSERS.

There are jobs. One might have to move, lower one's standard of living, give up the flat-screen TV and meals out, or take jobs one does not like, of course. But if we look at these whiners, they are failures themselves.

A coworker I know complains that there are no jobs for his son. He thinks his son actually DESERVES a job in his field.

And WHY? What is the rationale? Because he worked hard to finish college and spent four years of his life studying in his field. (Anthropology).

Do you think he "deserves" a job in his field? I sincerely would like to know, and encourage others to answer.

      I await your cogent response.
