Self deception and intellectual dishonesty, two very good reasons NOT to vote for Ron Paul

I get it, I get it, 1000 times fucking over WE ALL GET IT!

Ron Paul appeals to young-And perhaps not so young- dumb liberals for two primary reasons:

1) Ron Paul claims he will legalize marijuana.

2) Ron Paul claims he would end the wars and bring the troops home immediately.

Now, if you so-called liberal/progressives can turn your vaporizer off for a moment, I would like to introduce you to something called reality, and why claims one and two are complete bullshit.

Presidents don't get elected because they promise anything which is terrible, they get elected by promising something that is good, and admittedly, claims both one and two are good, except if one examines them a bit deeper (remember I said this would require turning off your vaporizers; oh shit man, what a drag!)

First of all, you can throw Ron Paul's claims One and Two right out the fucking window for the following reasons, even IF Ron Paul were elected, he would not be able to do what he claims he wants to do concerning items One and Two willy-nilly, (which he well knows) because they would never, NEVER pass them in the Senate or in Congress, so grow up and get the hell over it, America is culturally and socially backward, and it shall remain so as long as plutocrats are in control (and Ron Paul is a card-carrying plutocrat if ever there was one) simply because it is always in the interest of a plutocracy to have a really dumbed down population, which as evidenced by the growing popularity of such a genocidal philosophy as libertarianism, it would appear the plutocrats have certainly succeeded indeed.

Secondly, the most dangerous thing which is not so obvious, is that libertarianism is one of the most self-centered, egocentric, psychopathic philosophies ever developed, if one cannot see or understand the convoluted logic behind that very mentally unstable (and ultimately hypocritical) Patriarch of libertarianism Ayn Rand, I simply don't know what to say, except that all you Paulbots out there appear to be in the same intellectual consensuses trance, the same cult of personality obsession, as the citizens of 1930s Germany did with Adolf Hitler, I can guarantee you, if that accursed, wretched little man became president, you'd be singing a different tune two or three years later.

Unlike Libertarians, I believe in paying taxes, I believe that our current tax system is totally fucked right now, that it's 180° out of order, the wealthy, whether they be corporations or individuals, pay essentially nothing, and the rest of us wage slave scum pay the rest.

That shit needs to stop.

But a no good son of a bitch who Doesn't won't to pay ANY taxes for ANYTHING, I have absolutely no use for, and I don't give a rats ass about any of their convoluted Anti-logic arguments to the contrary, because as far as a libertarian is concerned, they would rather let their own mother die, as long as some kind of proposal did not include them paying ANY tax, I have always despised greedy self-centered people, which if any of you Paulbots out there would Admit it, Is exactly the reason why this once great nation is in the condition it's in right now. Fuck Libertarianism. And fuck Ron Paul!

You may turn your vaporizers back on now.

As always, I remain, V

    • It's all true...as is PetEr-Alan_ColE's comment below.
Personally, I don't believe it really matters who becomes president...they are basically all same puppets of the corporate elite. You can not fix something that has failed as miserably as this system has.
When 95% of Congress are self serving theives, change will never happen.

    • I believe that we have reached a new threshold of hate pieces, so whatever Paul is doing must be working. One would think that VFORVENDETTA would encompass what the character in the movie stood for (knowing the truth, standing for one's rights), but in fact he resembles more of a political hate monger spewing dis-info to confuse the population into thinking that Paul is not surging. This thread is just a troll orgy, pay it no mind. If you really want to see how the country feels, visit the actual caucus and see the tension between good, well meaning people, and paid spineless, mindless yes men paid to push their fellow man to an early grave. (i won't name names, i think you get the point). Replace Paul's name (in this article0 with any of the top tier candidates, and I guarantee the op would get this thread deleted. Have faith my brothers, good still exists in this world, no matter how much deception grabs the headlines. VFORVENDETTA is sarcastic, or deceptive (name wise).

Well.... first of all, I don't claim to know all the truth, but I do know a great deal of it, as far as rights are concerned, one cannot stand for rights, that one does not have, and living in the current paradigm which is the US of A, the only right you have primarily speaking, is to be a consumer, this culture is not about rights, it's about consumption, and submission, that is all.

I have little time or interest for "hate mongering" I simply present objective truth, but attempting to deliver objective truth to "believers" is a futile enterprise, which unfortunately, in his sick old age, one of the greatest minds of his time experienced, at the hands of the faith that he had embraced his entire life, Catholicism, that man was Galileo.

As far as Obama is concerned, I do not support him, as I would not support any plutocrat any longer, which definitely includes Ron Paul.

    • This may or may not be. Every time one of the RNC candidates gets a little more popular with the voters there are multiple posts here trying to undermine their fitness to be president. As it seems that Barry Soetoro can do no wrong here and the intent of the hit piece is blatantly obvious, I regard most of these with skepticism and tend to skim over the post. That said I will say that although there may be two or more good reasons not to vote for Ron Paul, there are not two or more any type of reasons, good or otherwise, to vote for Obummer in November. He needs to be evicted regardless of who is runningin opposition.

You act as if the number of reasons equals the quality of those reasons. I'll give you two unequivocal statements that divide the two candidates and you can tell me why their opposite positions are meaningless or even comparable.
      1. The is no such thing as being a 'little bit' racist.
      2. A woman should have ultimate say over whether she bears a child or doesn't.

      WELL

Congress didnt authorize the wars. What makes you think they would try to stop paul from ending them.

Obama ran, in part, of getting the troops out of iraq. Is he the only candidate that can run on such a platform? I also recal obama making statements making it sound as if he would decriminalize weed. That is until he was elected. Then, as I recall, He laughed at the thought of it during some type of town hall meeting. I guess you all have gotten so used to being slapped in the face by politicians on both sides you all choose to only remember when......"the other party" does it to you. To bad so sad. They all are fuckin you and as long as "your party" is in control it doesnt seem to matter as much.

I agree with what you are saying here, which is why I am no longer an Obama supporter, I also no longer support any plutocrat running for office, which would certainly include Ron Paul.

I I'm a realist first and foremost, hence I refuse to blindly follow a party line, if a Democrat is a Democrat in name only, and in reality acts like a Republican, well... you know the old saying, if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it's probably a duck, and in this case, the "duck" is being a plutocrat, I will not support them.

    • Yeah Obama can sign an executive order giving himself the right to ASSASSINATE anyone he sees fit, without ANY approval...

Trust, if Obama can sign and executive order, or whatever that thinks gives him the right to do that.... Paul has got the balls to legalize it... Executive order and DONE.

But that isn't even the half of the argument... Legalize to not legalize... If that weren't even on the table, people who have respect for human life would vote against him.

People who think this military drone bombing and consistently missing the intended target (a target they don't ever explain or prove should be a target in the first place) isn't okay, wouldn't want to vote for Obama....

A president that would turn his back on a man about to be executed, when the vast majority of the world seemed to be standing up for him, including the warden at the last prison the guys was at, the Pope, Amnesty International... Yeah if given a better option (which we have) will not be voting for Mr. "Fuck-it, let him die"

People who have respect for patriots who stand up to a fascist regime, would not vote for him, people who think the treatment of Bradley Manning, who by many standards, including Paul's, is a "hero and a Patriot".... Would not vote for Obama.

People who think trying to conquer the mid-east for resources is wrong... Would not vote for Obama.

People who think it's unconstitutional for a president to go to war without prior approval from congress, much like Obama did with Libya.... Would not vote for Obama.

People who don't live in a multimillion dollar home paid for by lobbyists, and politicking much like Obama's old home in Chicago was.... Would not vote for him provided a more down to earth option, that would be Paul (whose home isn't valued at half a million)....

      People who think authorizing "indefinite detention" of Americans was wrong would not vote for Obama... and actually the ACLU and Human Rights Watch condemn the NDAA, or at least that part of it;

      "Controversy over indefinite detention

Section 1021 and 1022 have been called a violation of constitutional principles and of the Bill of Rights.[29] Internationally, the UK-based newspaper The Guardian has described the legislation as allowing indefinite detention "without trial [of] American terrorism suspects arrested on US soil who could then be shipped to Guantánamo Bay;"[30] Al Jazeera has written that the Act "gives the US military the option to detain US citizens suspected of participating or aiding in terrorist activities without a trial, indefinitely."[31] The official Russian international radio broadcasting service Voice of Russia has compared the Act to legislation passed by the Third Reich;[32] the Act has been opposed by the ACLU and Human Rights Watch, and received criticism from The New York Times,[33] and other news organizations.[34][35]

On December 31 and after signing the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 into law, President Obama issued a statement on it that addressed "certain provisions that regulate the detention, interrogation, and prosecution of terrorism suspects." In the statement Obama maintains that "the legislation does nothing more than confirm authorities that the Federal courts have recognized as lawful under the 2001 AUMF. I want to clarify that my Administration will not authorize the indefinite military detention without trial of American citizens. [...] My Administration will interpret section 1021 in a manner that ensures that any detention it authorizes complies with the Constitution, the laws of war, and all other applicable law. [...] As my Administration has made clear, the only responsible way to combat the threat al-Qa'ida poses is to remain relentlessly practical, guided by the factual and legal complexities of each case and the relative strengths and weaknesses of each system. Otherwise, investigations could be compromised, our authorities to hold dangerous individuals could be jeopardized, and intelligence could be lost. I will not tolerate that result, and under no circumstances will my Administration accept or adhere to a rigid across-the-board requirement for military detention."[36]

The American Civil Liberties Union has responded that despite claims by the Obama Administration to the contrary, "The statute contains a sweeping worldwide indefinite detention provision... [without] temporal or geographic limitations, and can be used by this and future presidents to militarily detain people captured far from any battlefield." The ACLU furthermore commented that "While President Obama issued a signing statement saying he had 'serious reservations' about the provisions, the statement only applies to how his administration would use the authorities granted by the NDAA," and maintains that "the breadth of the NDAA’s detention authority violates international law because it is not limited to people captured in the context of an actual armed conflict as required by the laws of war."[37]""

But most importantly...... I think is our troops, and by an overwhelming show of financial support to Paul above any other candidate, shows you they won't be voting for Obama either....

But really stare down your nose for someone smoking, vaporizing, or advocating marijuana.... And lie to yourself and think that with all the fuct up shit Obama has done, Paul can't legalize it.... Right....

There are so many leeches on pay-roll from corporations either continuing to get hand-outs, maybe the DoD getting job scared, who knows who you guys work for that has you scared Paul will quit subsidizing it, and how stupid you must be to think, that trying to break the argument down to one of drugs is even remotely believable....

NO the argument is about freedom and respect for human life.... And the drug war according to many people, is in effect a race/class-war, one Obama has no problem continuing.....

    • Firstly I should say that I am a foreign student who observes American politics very closely, and since all of you are interested in shitting on all of the candidates I have few questions in my mind and I would like to get logical responses and please forgive me for my grammar.

      1. How the fuck one political party (Republican Party) has more than one candidate?
      2. Shouldn't be an age limit for a candidate to run for presidency?
      3. Are the votes of the people considered 100% in White House. Do people really affect White House's decisions??
4.This article did not explain exactly "Why NOT Ron Paul" and I smell biast
thoughts everywhere in the article. So Vandetta can you explain again why?

People in U.S. were asleep for more than 50 years and now, to change something, people need to sacrifice so many things and shit needs to go down. Political terms are so messed up. Ron Paul is considered as a Libertarian but it is more than that. He believes in Constitutional Republic system which affects every single individual in the country. He does not want to destroy the FED, but put limitations.

and Vandetta please enlighten me with your words.

But the unfortunate reality of this obscene joke of a political system is you don't get the ideal (How's that old saying about not letting the ideal be the enemy of the ?), you get the best you can get. I have -Very- serious doubts at best about libertarianism, I just don't believe it's at all a practical workable system in the modern world, in america least of all. Obama is for me the lesser (by -far-) evil. As bad as things are when I consider what the wrong-winger scum will turn this country into, the faster slide toward total corporate-fascist-rule. Well...

Paul plays both ends of the political spectrum better than any pol who has come before him, able to pick the pockets on the left and right with equal elan. You've got to tip your hat to that talent.
