Conservatives Trust A News Source Owned By Foreigners

Un-American Republicans have been played for fools for years now!

Posted by PoliShifter on 20 May 2012, 7:07 am
Conservatives and Republicans love to question whether or not President Obama is an American. They think this is a winning issue for them. It surely rouses the mouth breathers in their base who are still fighting the Civil War. It’s supposed to set off bells in whistles in the heads of Americans when they hear “foreign born” and “not a REAL American”.

In an odd twist I find it fascinating that while Republicans and Conservatives flaunt this distrust of foreigners they absolutely put all their faith and trust in Fox News. This is funny to me because Fox News is owned by a foreign born billionaire – Rupert Murdoch. Not only is foreigner Rupert Murdoch the owner of NewsCorp but also their largest shareholder is Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal.

So the Saudis which make a ton of money selling oil own a piece of Fox News which spends its time pushing for the consumption of more oil. Brilliant. I guess that’s just good business. Climate change denial propaganda on Fox News goes a long way toward the Saudis bottom line.

Then there is Rupert Murdoch. He was born an Australian. He inherited hid dad’s business and grew his own global media empire. Mr. Murdoch is very much a Global Citizen having businesses all over the world and married to a Chinese woman. What loyalties does Murdoch have toward the U.S.? What are Murdoch’s motives for the propaganda he puts on Fox News? To Murdoch, the U.S. Government is just an annoyance that needs to be shaped to his image.

While Conservatives will question whether President Obama is a “real” American or not and will question President Obama’s motives I know they will never ever question Rupert Murdoch’s motives and where his loyalties truly lie.

To me it’s crystal clear – just watch Fox News. Their agenda is Murdoch’s agenda. The Fox News agenda is to dismantle the U.S. Government. They want to get rid of Social Security, get rid of Medicare, remove any and all regulations, and gut the entire social safety net. They also want to privatize public education and not spend one dime on our infrastructure. How is that American? How is that Patriotic?

I don’t care how many American Flags Fox News puts around their screen. Their agenda is un-American. Their agenda is foreign. Their agenda is to take down the U.S. This should come as no surprise since Rupert Murdoch is a not a REAL American. He’s a foreign globalist – a World Citizen. Why True American Conservatives put their faith in Fox News is beyond me.

NewsCorp (Fox News) has a Saudi Prince as a majority stake holder
CNN it would not surprise me. The Saudi's invest in all sorts of things. Anyone remember Dubai Ports World taking over our ports?

And ofcourse now Comcast owns NBC/MSNBC

We don't have broadcast news, we have profit driven media that is largely infotainment.

    • The truth or lack there of, in the message of the news source is the only thing that matters, i believe you can find much more well balanced news sources outside america than within it. Murdoch is his own man, his place of birth has little to do with the right wing agenda he puts forth and more too do with the demand for it he feeds. As for the saudi prince all he is, is a 1 percenter with a different zip code, if you're worried about him you should be just as worried about the 1 percenter's meddling on this side of the planet. After all he can only do so much because he is the prince of saudi arabia, the people doing the most damage are names you may not be very familiar with buying stock through investment companies you never heard of.

    • GENERALNATTY:

We used to have laws in the USA generalnatty that prevented majority foreign ownership of media companise. There was a time when MADE IN USA mattered. There was a time when our vast manufacturing base allowed us to win World War 2. Those days are gone.

There was a time when REPUBLICAN Teddy Roosevelt broke up Monopolies and Trusts.

It used to be we imposed tariffs on imports to make sure imported goods competed with domestically produced goods on a level playing field.

We used to put America first and shunned foreign influence. Not any more. Not since the 1950's. It's been down hill ever since. Even Mitt Romney prefers European Banks to U.S. Banks.

You may accept the status quo as various global shareholders investing in this or that. I don't. America was great and became great not on the policies of the past 30 years, but on the policies between the period of FDR and Reagan. Ever since Reagan it has been downhill and it will keep going downhill.

Do you like working for lower and lower wages? What do you think is going to happen if we keep electing politicians who push supply side economics?

Are you saying you want some sort of Global World Government with a a One World Currency? Because that is the logical conclusion of your argument.

    • Murdoch also has been exempted from federal rules forbidding one party from holding television stations and newspapers in the same market. Murdoch owns the New York Post and Fox5-TV in New York City. Most of the lobbying to provide loopholes for Murdoch was done while NEWT ran the House for the benefit of Republicans and the detriment of our nation.

    • Counter point you wrote: "The only agenda Murdoch has is profit."

That is the convenient excuse. For the past 30 years the mantra for making more profit is to lobby Congress to get either subsidies, tax breaks, and/or regulations slashed to make one's particular business or industry more profitable.

Case in point is Rupert Murdoch who gave Newt Gingrich a book deal in exchange for help getting an FCC complaint dropped. You may recall Gingrich had to resign in disgrace. His motive may be profit and he and you may say the ends justify the means but he is still destroying our government in the process of making a profit along with many other multinational global corporations which own Congress lock, stock, and barrel.

I am the "poster". I wrote this piece. Kennymotown posted it at current.

"take down the U.S." is a crock of pure bullshit? So the means do justify the ends? What Murdoch is doing vis-a-vis his global media empire IS taking down the U.S. Government. Now, you may argue this is merely a by-product of making a profit in a Capitalist Dominated world.

Regardless, for you to assert this is a "crock of pure bullshit" really reflects either your willful ignorance of the situation at hand or just a complete lack of knowledge as to what has happened to the United States Government over the last 17 years (+/-) since Fox News has come on the scene.

Bill Clinton was impeached over a Blow Job

George W Bush was appointed to the Presidency by the Supreme Court for his first term

the U.S. Gov invaded Iraq on a pack of lies spread by all the MSM but largely Fox News (that Saddam attacked us on 9/11, that Saddam was trying to acquire yellow cake uranium, etc ad nauseum).

The invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan have cost the United States Trillions of dollars and ballooned our debt. Couple this with the Bush Tax Cuts for the Wealthy Elite and the result was a doubling of our National Debt under George W Bush.

You don't see any connection? What stance did Fox News take with regard to the Iraq War? What was their stance (when Bush was in office) on the Department of Homeland Security? What was their stance on "warrentless wiretapping", torture, and indefinite detention?

You don't see a break down in government there? Sure, ok fine, Rupert Murdoch was just directing it all to make a profit but the end result has been to make a mockery of our government.

And you call this a crock of bull?

I like RT. Much better than any MSM in the U.S. If you look at the numbers, about 1% of the population in the U.S. watches MSNBC. They are the 1%. We are the 99%!

The Financial Times is good also. Even if conservative, they don't lie and propagandize. RT and Current are my favorite for TV news. RT gives news NONE of the big corperates like CNN, MSNBC, and Fox cover

IMHO he is much worse. He has an extreme right wing ideology and he is willing to lie to achieve his ends. In a study, Fox news viewers were more uninformed than people who do not watch the news.
I talk to people to tell me outlandish things and I ask what news do they watch and they say Fox. My neighbor absolutely believes that Saddam attacked the US in 9-11 and claims she learned it on Fox. It was SUGGESTED on fox by linking one word next to others. But realize most people are really dumb and Murdock knows what he is doing: intentionally misinforming for a cause.

It really appears to be much more than money. IHe uses lies, not just sensationalism .
Sensationalixm would make him lots of money. I have watched Fox, though with great difficulty, and the news is mangled and there are outright lies and the lies always have an extreme ideological bent.
They leave out information that would help the ignorant who watch them really know what is happening. in their world..
He is an incredible propagandist and the watchers are just ignorant.

It would improve the intelligence of our population if we did not have stations that call themselves news stations who are really just opinion promoters.
In the past we had real news where anchors corrected the lies of the people they were interviewing and not this BS of having two propagandists on debating eachother when both are lieing.

Red meat? Well if wanting the U.S. credit rating to fall even more, to deny that spending in infrastructure jobs like another huge WPS to get millions of Americans back to work and not coming through with they were going to create jobs when running in 2010 is not treasonist I'll eat my hat. Somewhere you have to take a stand or you'll fall for anything my friend!

The stimulus only got Republican endorsement when 40% of it was for tax cuts. And when people are out of work, facing years of unemployment and sorrow, they start killing themselves by drinking or drugging, and the social wreck that ensue's is more than enough evidence for me that government employee's that could start job programs did nothing......I hold them accountable!
