Censhorship was one of the overwhelming reasons that led to a mass exodus from HP over a couple of years agao.. That was when I found Current.

I'd have to agree with that........ I fell into FB and had some surreal experiences in

that stee-range cyberworld. Very true, they do somehow manage to find you !

I deactivated my FB account and later learned from a friend that's still with it, that

I actually had two accounts. FB deactivated one, and the other still sits idiling for

over a year. Isn't there a limit? Like if one doesn't utiilize their account and there's

obviously no acitivity per the dates, is it not then taken down and the member

notified? I wasn't.

So I've heard, Art Levine who is a free-lance writer for HP called me for an interview
one day. I reiterate; HE called me, I didn't call him. I still cringe at the word

free-lance though.

I'm not ready to say goodbye to Current just yet. As long as my friends keep showing up here, so will I. It's where I'm most comfortable, despite all the cracks in the walls, and roof leaks, and plumbing noises. I'll leave when it all falls down around me.

Yeah! That's the one! He used to keep me in stitches. He had a whole warehouse full of duct tape. Used to build cars with it or create all kinds of really stupid inventions with old parts of trash.

Yes, that was Red Green, a Canadian show that may have sometimes been available on a PBS channel, not sure. My favorite was when he gotta computer and had learned that one had to close all the windows first before shutting it down. He and the "kid" with the horn-rimmed glasses (forget his name but may have been Red's nephew) went around the house closing all of the windows. Red Green used duct tape a lot to invent, build and repair things. The show would often end at MooseElk Lodge I think, with their oath to be better men. I hope I'm remembering it all correctly....

Yeah it is. He was on PBS and a studio setting of like a lodge, sometimes a cabin,

had a sidekick silly friend who occasionally would wear an aviator type ear flaps

winter hat - RedGreen would wear red suspenders on a green checked flannel shirt

with jeans At times, he would be filmed outside doing 'demonstrations' and was an

advocate of duct tape.......ahead of his time with dry humor, but worthwhile to view and laugh here or there.

He was always 'demonstrating' some new invention of his or technique.....less see,

now did I get the right PBS broadcast program and celeb.

PBS is where I got it. And his geeky-looking nephew was Harold. And they were all members of the Possum Lodge and had this really dumb Possum Lodge Prayer that ended with something like "I think." Remember the guy who drove a Septic truck? I wish I could remember what the name of that company was. That too was a riot.

That's a show I'd like to see a marathon of.

I have minimal understanding of how these things work . Are they going to erase it ? What exactly must they do ? Why could they not save the effort and leave it ? Totally, but I'd never go back to InYerFace Facebook. Too bad experiences in

that surreal, scanner darkly world. If peeps wanna be lemmings, rather, if you are

I do too , like a web co op ... we can vote on ideas and plans ... and whether to or how to deal with trolls ... Co ops are fun .

I am going to miss this place. The format, the layout and interface is really better than anything out there. Easy ability to load picture and video in your comment. I don't know of anything other website comparable. Maybe I would go there when current. com goes down.

I have a confession to make, I never watched current TV other than vanguard once or twice. I don't really watch TV. The website itself is why I come here it has its own significance, the interface is excellent moderating is usually pretty good, it allows for the free exchange of ideas.

I found out about this site by word of mouth. Years ago a co-worker at the time told me to come here and vote up his submission so it could end up on TV. (Back when they aired viewer created content). I did, and never left visiting day after day since. I found the interface friendly and place addicting. You can say what you want about the mismanagement of the station, but the website/software design team really deserves props for this.

A co-op would be nice. Maybe Al Jazzera will license out the software for this site, and old current member could get something started. I can't imagine Al jazzera will have any use for this site.

I am really going to miss this and many of the old genuine members of Current, like you and Jan, Vic, bailey, Remanns, Ibrake, Jubal,kenny Presscore, Treewolf (That Crazy liberation was good when he was here) and some others too. Many hours spent here. All good things come to an end it. I feel like I'll be homeless online after this site goes down, I be looking for a new place to go.

I don"t know if I'll be online the moment it happens, I don't know if current will even announce it when it goes black, but artemis6 and others that may read this, it has been a great few years, reading your comments and posts.
