6 Year-Old Buys Porn-Infested PSP From Wal-Mart

Image
Nettle
See, Eliso was treated to a late, late Christmas present from his mum last week. She took him to a Wal-Mart in Manatee County, Florida, and bought him a PSP. All was well!

Until he took it home and turned it on. And found that the wallpaper was of a naked chick. And that the PSP somehow had a memory stick already inside it that was full of "hundreds of pornographic pictures".

Wal-Mart offered to give the kid a new PSP game. Eliso's mum, Tamatha, is having none of it, and wants a whole new PSP instead.

    • Wow, this is just stupid. Really a waste of the editors, and writers time. It's some porn, get over it. The kid was eventually going to start watching it 8 hours a day like me, now he just gets a headstart.

    • First off, that is what you get for buying your consoles at Wal-mart. Secondly, asking for a new system is pointless when the memory card was the only thing "tainted".

    • i really hope that this didnt end up bigger than it should be
and the most they should get is some sort of game or another mem stick, not an entire new psp, you can just revert the settings back to the factory defaults
(unless some person that works there did this at the factory)

    • What in the hell is this woman doing giving a new PSP to a SIX YEAR OLD?!? He should be out in the yard playing games and experiencing life, not sitting around with his nose in a video game. While its too bad that the kid was exposed to pornographic images, its just as much a travesty that this kid is being encouraged to sit and play a single-player device instead of interacting with other children his age, being outside and getting quality exercise. Tell me this kid wasn't 20+ lbs overweight too, with a diet of Spaghetti-O's and Burger King...

    • So why is Wal-Mart selling refurbished PSP's at the same price as a brand new one - I mean come on - that is what happened here right?

    • I would give them a new memory card, but giving them a new PSP when they have a perfectly good one seems a little excessive.

Maybe she thinks that whoever put the pictures on there was doing unspeakable things to it as well; I say that's moral knee-jerk humbug, although they do deserve a new memory stick (maybe a nice one with a few gigabytes so they can put movies and such on it.).

EDIT: Also, I agree that it's probably the kid's (or one of his siblings') stash. Kids do shit like that.

    • Who's to say the parents didn't go so far as to place the pictures on the memory stick themselves... even allowing the kid to quickly view them...then return to wal-mart huffing and puffing. I've seen media reports of parents doing stranger things involving fraud and their own children for their own personal gain. Not every kid is so lucky as to have A-list parents in life.

Or. It's was the damn kid's stash. I know I was yanking the Sears catalog out of the mail when I was 12. Give me a break, this was before internet porn.

    • Don’t worry, they would erase all the pictures of naked people and give you an innocent game when you kill random people for free and everything will be normal again.

    • I want to know were the porn originated? O Ya the internet lol. Get the feds to dust it and find out were that toy has been. Give the kid a new PSP, he'll never get his inosence back, wait 6 years old there was nothing on that PSP he hadn't already seen

I'v gotten some feed back and believe the possibility that the parents may have had a hand in the PSP. was any one around? Are the parents looking for a freebe? Does the kid had siblings?

    • Naked people are scary. We need to teach these kids how yucky and embarrassing their bodies are! Sex is the most un-natural thing EVER! Get thee to an abstinence class!!!!!

    • I once managed a cell phone retail store. One day I sold a brand new never opened factory sealed cell phone to a customer.
A day later the customer comes back with her daughter age 11. She started shouting and screaming at my face for selling her a phone that had pornographic pictures and a video in it.
I knew that there was no way possible that those pictures and the video was uploaded in to the phone at our store because the phone was factory sealed when I sold it to her.
She threatened to sue our store and I basically told her to f*** off (I could do that because our family owns the store).
To make the story short, it ended up that it was her son who inserted his phone's memory chip in to the new phone that I sold.
So, I think there is a probability that this lady who bought a psp from walmart is under similar situation.

    • she just wants a new one ? i'd give her an extended lifetime warranty too , and a copy of every single game now and ever to be manufactured for the PSP . i would overwhelm her with such obsequious , heel licking generosity that a lawsuit would be beyond her ability to conceive .

Really? It's not the store's fault that some punk kid probably did that as a prank. If the package was sealed then they shouldn't expect a thing from the retailer. It's too bad that fell into the hands of a child, anyone else might think it a bonus.

we're talking about wal-mart dude . and it's not as if this story hasn't already been seen by millions . it's called damage control . wal mart can afford to go far out of it's way to take some kind of fake moral high ground , as if to say "sweet jesus , we will pray that this child wasn't adversely affected by the gross actions of some degenerate left wing democrat " etc. . they can , and should , suck ass and make this an opportunity to look good . it's a strategic opportunity . i will lose faith in what i have seen as the evil genius of wal-marts advertising dept. if this situation isn't exploited .
