God of War 3 Surpasses Predecessor’s CGI

"Back in 2005 when the PS3 was originally unveiled, Sony made a bold promise that we would be seeing, at the very least, CGI-quality graphics on Sony’s new platform, yet was keen enough not to give a solid time frame. Well, they’ve fulfilled their promise a lot faster than we had originally hoped for with the impending release of God of War 3."

    • Well, if we're making grand statements, let's actually look at the pics and nitpick.

The PS3 version, although amazingly beautiful, Kratos' chains on his arms are still only textures. And his upper body is obviously where they spent most of their polygons since his thighs are very angular.

Whereas the CG version is flawless all over.

And I think what is misleading is the fact that the two styles of Kratos are somewhat dissimilar. The PS3 version of Kratos just looks "dirtier" and meaner making him look updated and edgier. But the model of the PS3 version isn't quite there yet to give that full perfect look that only a CG Kratos can give (obviously).
