Aion Trailer Lays Out the Story

ShadowPraxis
Interested in NCSoft’s upcoming MMO Aion, but don’t know much about it beyond “its Korean” and “its got some sorta… angel-y looking stuff in it”? Then this new cinematic trailer is likely just what you’re looking for to get you up to speed.

    • Just as I did? The first part of my reply was sarcastic, true, but I would think that was more than due based on the content of your post - an attack out of nowhere.

And in the interest of being transparent here, I checked back through my posting habits and saw what you're referring to. I left a critical comment about a typo in the title of one of your past posts. You may also notice I said in the body of said comment that I make mistakes too (as you so graciously pointed out) and I'm forgiving of typos in the body text of a post. But at the very least, I ALWAYS doublecheck to make sure there are no typos in my headlines. That's a huge pet peeve of mine. Your mileage may vary.

Just as an FYI - I did some research into our visitors and their browser habits, for your edification.

In the last month, a full 75% of our users visited the site at resolutions above 1024x768, the point at which, after double checking a moment ago, I saw overlap occurring.

1024x768 DOES make up the majority of the remaining 25%, clocking in at 15% of the total. It should also be noted that mobile log-ins take up 5%, leaving the remaining 5% at various smaller sizes like 800x600.

To be fair, I honestly, seriously didn't realize that much of the tech-savvy world still used 1024 and below. I would have assumed that total number, including mobile, to have been much closer to 10% or below of our total hits. Apparently I was wrong.

The site, when built, was optimized for widescreen viewing. Had I realized the percentage of non-widescreen resolution was still that high, I would have taken it into account. At this stage in the game, however, it's a bit too late to retool everything. Doing so would also necessitate removing most of the sidebar content that we just added.

So I'm sorry that you had issues viewing the site because of my initial assumptions and short-sightedness, but that's no call to resort to personal attacks because you feel slighted.

This is the last I'm going to have to say on this matter in public. I just wanted to present the facts so everyone was on the same page and you know where I'm coming from.

    • It’s pretty hard for me to take a site seriously that doesn’t bother to properly size their images and movies so they don’t overlap other components. Especially when they go around here pointing out the shortcomings of others.

Hey, first off, thanks a lot for being a rational adult and resorting to insults in a public forum. That's super awesome of you. :)

Secondly, what resolution are you viewing the site in? You're one of maybe two or three people who've complained about overlaps and two of them were using a mobile phone and a smaller resolution, non-widescreen monitor.

Third, the only "pointing out the shortcomings of others" I've done on here has been when people post non-gaming related stuff to the gaming section and when people spam repeated posts on the same story when someone else has already posted that story.

Feel free to message me privately if you have any other concerns.
