According to multiple reports this week, there have been numerous disc read errors reported by Xbox 360 users trying to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Since the release of the game last week, many users have visited the Xbox.com website forum in an effort to figure out the issues surrounding the widely popular video game. A thread on the topic stretches 14 pages from a number of different users who have been unable to load the game or experienced a “unable to read from disk” message.
Within the thread, it has been found that users have attempted to load Modern Warfare 3 into other Xbox 360 systems but have experienced the same issues across the other platforms. This suggests that the problems occurring are involved with single discs instead of full consoles. With a disc issue, the copy of the game would likely have to be replaced.
Making the situation more difficult to analyze is the fact that other users have attempted to load multiple copies into the same system, but have experienced the same disc read error time after time. According to the forum thread, this has even occurred in cases where users tried out a new copy of the game after an exchange, only to experienced the same error time after time at home.
