Lions for Lambs is an excellent movie. The content and dialog of the movie offer cutting edge relevance to the implications of our military involvement in both Afganistan and Iraq since the 911 terrorist attacks. The tone of the movie is not flattering to either the Bush presidency, or the current neoconservative approach to geopolitics, and as such will likely be universally panned by people supporting the current brand of neoconservative patriotic fervor. But the true intent of the movie is not merely to rip into the strategy and motives of the current administration- the intent is to the examine both the merits and pitfalls of our "war on terror", to dispassionately look at the facts and the implications, and invite poeple to get into the debate, and get involved. If your looking for a mindless action movie look someplace else. However, if your looking for a movie that addresses issues about our "war on terror" and is intellectually stimulating- this movie rocks.

I just saw the film Lions for Lambs. Now, from what I can tell about the reviews, the majority of people were either disappointed because the film wasn't an action film, or because it didn't make them feel better about themselves when it was over.
Well it wasn't supposed to be an action film, and the film wasn't supposed to have a happy ending that made you feel better about yourself.
The film was designed to make people think and to send a few messages. The primary message at the end of the film was that apathy is killing us. This was not, I repeat, this was not a film that was made to make people feel greatly entertained through story and violence. It is my opinion that this was a movie designed to get people to think and actually take interest in national and global issues.
