Westerns, with their facial close-ups and extravagant panoramic shots, may be the perfect vehicle for new high-definition systems. The excessively accurate detail of HD may be so visually revealing as to allow us to see unintentional details such as "ridges of makeup, and stray spit," thereby unwillingly breaking us free of the myth of film.
