As are "The Incredibles" and "Watership Down." I never realized how traumatic "The Lion King" really is. This explains a lot...

that list is totally false and inaccurate. The Lion King??? Cars??? The Inredibles??? did not traumatize anyone. Like children are actually thinking that cars will rule the world. omg you've got to be kidding, or paranoid.

That's a terrible list. There are a lot more terrifying children's cartoons than most of those. Lion King? Incredibles? Come on.

Children should not be watching TV or movies - not until they're at least 7-10yrs old (or older if possible)
By reading stories or listening to stories, children can conceptualize or visualize to extent that their brains let them. Show them an image - an artists image - and it all goes to crap. Watership Down is a great book, but it was a crap movie. And it's an older kid's book at that...
That's the bad thing about TV or movies. I vote for holding off media for as long as possible. Plenty of time to fry your brain after you get older.

Actually, it's true. I read a study somewhere that said if children don't have external "monsters" in their young lives, they essentially internalize them, causing disturbing psychological problems.

As for that last one, Cracked mistakenly mentions 'tankui' when they mean 'tanuki.' Easy mistake, I guess; spellcheck flips out on both.

I don't think so...I don't remember the funny parts but rather the fact that there were fighting rabbits making each other bleed in "Watership Down."
Of course, Watership Down is NOT a children's movie. Just because it's animation don't make it appropriate for kids!

As bizarre as Willie Wonka is, it does say "animated" movies. If we were to start including just traumatizing kiddie films, I think Dark Crystal would have to be on that list.

Absolutely hilarious, but no big deal, kids need traumatic events in their lives to make them tough, like tazers.

People, people, people. Yes these are children movies, but a child doesn't have the same thought process as mature adults do.
Some of the movies on this list I could see why they are there, but The Lion King, The Incredibles, and Cars!!???
COME ON!!!
When kids watch this they don't understand the malicious violent scenes that aren't even that serious. They remember the funny parts that made them laugh hisarically. These movies are not created to entertain adults, they are made for children who don't even fully understand the plot.

Wait... Where did the "cars" come from? I'm definitely thinking SkyNet. And The Incredibles was an incredibly violent movie.

For some reason, I found Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory highly disturbing. I still refuse to watch it, or any remakes (even if they do include Johnny Depp).

Don't get me started on the nightmares Watership Down gave me. Yet, somehow, I would watch it non-stop. Why did we always do that as children?
