    • Cool I guess I'm the token stupid, oafish, un-hip, bigoted white guy, oh wait I forgot, my last name is Montoya, so I'm the stupid, oafish, un-hip, bigoted, tequila drinking, jalapeño loving, Illegal immigrant gardener rolling in a low-rider, oh WAIT!!!! I forgot the white part of me is Irish so I'm also drunk, catholic and beat my wife.

      Aren't stereotypes fun?

    • What one person calls a Hollywood Stereotype may be a scriptwriter's way of keeping a character as basic as possible to keep the story moving at a fast clip (so to speak).
Is there an awareness on the film company's part to play to a general, lower case mentality, audience as entertainment for entertainment's sake? Count on it.
In depth film-making of deeply drawn out characters is crucial to picking up awards, but they usually don't make the biggest bucks. Of course, there are exceptions. Thank goodness for that.
I'll just bet that Will Ferrel knows what I'm getting at.
"Funny looking hair is just...well? Funny!"
If you shove the same formulas down the public's throats long enough, they'll like it and want more.
      It's a P.T. Barnum thing.

      Addendum: ...and Disney.

    • Wow. If you look at where these stereotype are explored from - ie, the home, school and etc; then as humans that grow into adults, we make these stereotypes available from our conscious efforts to deplict them on the screen. I live in Hollywood, so when writers find something other than a profit of morass to pummell the ignorant public, then we might see something other than racist fantasy. Oh I forgot, that's about 252 million, at the box office. Dee, Dee, Deeeeeeeeeeeee!
