Orwell Rolls In His Grave: Documentary-- Featuring interviews with former media producers

jkw077
Using Orwell's "1984" as a backdrop, this documentary presents a rarely seen analysis of the mainstream media, its ownership structure, its true size and nature, and its undeniable influence over today's society. Features interviews with former CNN, MSNBC, and Fox mainstream media producers along with communications and media professors...

The day of Reagan's inauguration, the medOia reports the release of Iran's American hostages. On September 11th, 2001, the media does not report on literally dozens of firefighters hearing explosions in the towers prior too and during their collapses. The media completely ignores the thousands of protesters on Wall Street last week protesting the bailout. and that's just the beginning...

    • As I watched this documentary, I felt the wet warmth of a tear or two streak down my cheek. They were tears of mourning, for American democracy is in its final throes of existence....

Without question, there is something sinister going on, and anyone who denies it is either blind or in cahoots with the "powers- that- be"...

    • Thank you for posting this documentary. I watched it last night - another excellent piece to understand better what we see, don't see, and why!
freedocumentaries.com is worth taking a good look at, full of eye opening presentations!

    • I think this is one of the greatest and honest media commentary around covering the situation of the Corp Controlled Media in this Country. If you are like me concerned with the role of Media in the US both local, national and International this it is a must in our video library.

Just think about for a moment. This Corp Controlled Media helped to drive many innocent lives into their deaths to protect lies and a system of oppression.

    • If you're not already familiar with Project Censored, I urge you to pick up the latest edition of this well respected series. In my opinion at least, it is one of the few places where a truly independent voice can be heard, and journalistic professionalism and respect can be found.

    • True journalism suppose to expose the wrong doings of the public and the government. I did said that true Journalism die somehow. Not completely! Some honest people are starting to come out, Thank GOD. However a lot of people are living in darkness. They have no time to use the internet. They come home and turn the TV on that controlled corp media. By the way, we are living in a Fascist Public and Government Society.

    • What the corporate controlled media has done to this country, is astoundingly disgraceful, disgusting and a blatant betrayal of the public trust...

It's time to change this stranglehold over our country's people...the idealogical warfare that continuously supports the right-wing agenda in favor of the wealthy few and deliberately disregards the progressive agenda that would provide protection for and the free speach of the lower and middle class masses...

So, the reason one side is being blamed, is because that's who is responsible for these transgresssions... totalitarianism, despotism, fascism...that is the simple truth...

Whatever happened to real journalists and real journalism...who report the actual truth istead of propagating lies...

Wow, this was very long to watch. I'm still processing it all. Corporatacracy indeed! Very important and enlightening info in this... You would do Current community a service to submit this as a news story with your added commentary, I think J_Jammer.

    • I have to point out that there are people who have either been assigned to, or have taken up the task themselves to, monitor and respond to comments and postings, picking out easy targets that have been commonly labeled as easily dismissed in the past (such as Michael Moore).

Anyone who has been paying any kind of attention to the media in the last 10 years can relate to the accuracy of this film. It is to you that I speak right now. Do your best to spread the word, and understand that there will be those who will do what they have been taught to discredit certain postings and comments.

Anyone who would argue against the obvious, undeniable harm that certain elements of today's media has done to the democratic process in this country, and others, has aligned themselves with an agenda that will soon be evident to everyone, including them. The truth is coming out. Period.

    • This would be far better if it wasn't so into blaming one side.

Funny they should talk about being fair with balanced views when they, this documentary, isn't that well balanced itself.

There is, however, great information in it. Thanks for sharing.

I don't take time out of my life to watch things that are so one sided as this.

Considering the problem of the media isn't exacerbated by one political party...it's done so by both.

Unless you're stating that the Democrats hold no failing in this....then I can understand your constant baaing and need to follow along.

Maybe you should take time to watch the documentary before you assume that it is championing the Democrats as the one party that is working to stop media consolidation. I just finished watching the entire thing and while it does some clips from ONE Michael Moore speech, he is by no means a keystone figure in this piece and the main point of his speech is that neither party is doing its job and representing the public interest.

If there is one side that this documentary takes it is the public. The only politician who is given any major time in the movie is Bernie Sanders, who is a vicious critic of both parties.

Of course she would recommend that....

Anyway I already watched the whole thing after I made that comment and it is very much pandering to the Democrats. Could they possibly bring up "OMG STOLE THE ELECTION" enough? No....they couldn't.....

    • I am watching it, but any person that uses Michael Moore as serious evidence against someone else is laughable in my book. I really hope they don't over show him...he's disgusting.

Sorry you don't care for Moore. He is not a great role model for healthy lifestyle. He does use some pretty outrageous journalistic tricks -- but then, that's the point of the movie. He just bends the truth in a manner that is in the opposite direction from Rupert Murdock. (Also not a great role model for a healthy lifestyle)

If you think about what he says, and how far or close to the truth (as you see it), I think you might find there is, in fact, some commonality.

When Moore says that only two parties can not represent the whole of the the spectrum of the US populace, it is hard to disagree. No? Yes?
